Myles Brennan is only considered a three-star quarterback recruit, but he clearly means so much more than that LSU and coach Les Miles.

According to the Biloxi Sun Herald, when Brennan committed during a recent visit to Baton Rouge, Miles was so excited that he was moved to tears, quite literally.

Here’s how Brennan, a record-setting passer for St. Stanislaus in Miss., recalled the denouement of his time on LSU’s campus to the Sun Herald:

When it got to the point where the two sides said their goodbyes, Brennan acted.

“I just said, ‘Coach, I want to go ahead and shake your hand and tell you I’m going to go ahead and commit,'” he said. “At that time, he just started screaming and tears started coming out of his eyes. He gave me a big ol’ hug. My parents started tearing up and crying because they didn’t know it was coming.

“No one knew it was happening. It just came out. It just felt like it was time.”

If you’re wondering why Miles was so excited about Brennan, just look at his numbers. The rising senior passed for 5,248 yards while competing 303 of 486 passes, and that was with defenses stacking up against him. He passed for 53 touchdowns while throwing just 8 interceptions. He’s also been remarkably consistent, racking up a QB rating of 128.8 as a junior and 128.5 as a junior.

Clearly, any program could benefit from performances like those. Lucky for Tigers fans, they can feel very confident that Brennan will be suiting up for them, and soon.

“I’m done,” Brennan told the Sun Herald. “Once I committed, I looked Coach Miles in the eyes. They had Felipe Franks decommit last year so it’s a little nerve racking from their standpoint I guess, but I looked him in the eyes and said that’s it. Once I commit, I’m not the one who is going to go out and take all five officials and go do everything and visit all these other places. That’s just not right on my part.

“I’m committed to LSU and from here on out every visit I’m going to take is going to be to LSU.”
