The purpose of this paper is to learn about the scientific productivity and collaboration of auth... more The purpose of this paper is to learn about the scientific productivity and collaboration of authors who have published papers on gender in Spanish communication journals by paying special attention to the role played by men. The citation network was analysed in order to identify the researchers network and the participation of men therein. The hypotesis put forward is that men have a secondary role in scientific communities that research gender in the communication field. Methodologies from the analysis of social network were applied. The information extracted was analysed using Ucinet software. It was confirmed that men have a marginal role in the network and that women tend to cite other women in their publications

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to understand the gender differences in the formation of en... more Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to understand the gender differences in the formation of entrepreneurial intentions among future communications professionals. Building on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), it analyzes the relationships between the variables of personal attitude towards entrepreneurship (AE), perceived behavioral control (PBC) and the influence of the social environment of entrepreneurs on their entrepreneurial intention (EI). Design/methodology: This empirical research is based on a non-random convenience sample consisting of 234 students enrolled in the final courses of the journalism degree program. The models have been tested according to the PLS (Partial Least Square) method. Findings: The results indicate the existence of explanatory models of different entrepreneurial intentions for men and women. In this regard, the significant relationship between social norms and social assessment in the entrepreneurial intention of women is important. Social implications: Improved employability of professionals in the communications sector, with attention to the differences between men and women when considering entrepreneurship as a career option. Originality/value: This is the first study of its kind conducted in the context of communications and with university students, specifically, those pursuing a degree in communications, who are faced with an economic crisis and a changing environment, in which entrepreneurship is critical to their professional development.

En la actualidad, la investigación en comunicación intercultural juega un papel clave para compre... more En la actualidad, la investigación en comunicación intercultural juega un papel clave para comprender y facilitar los procesos de globalización de las organizaciones. En este artículo se pretende identificar los retos comunicativos que perciben los directivos expatriados en países con culturas diferentes, concretamente en el contexto de empresas españolas localizadas en Tánger. Se ha seleccionado este territorio porque es uno de los enclaves marroquíes con mayor número de empresas española, debido a su proximidad geográfica y a las excelentes infraestructuras que ofrece. La hipótesis de partida es que los problemas de comunicación entre directivos españoles y mandos intermedios marroquíes derivan de las diferencias culturales. Para alcanzar los objetivos, se ha realizado un cuestionario a los directores de ambas nacionalidades acerca de los problemas que perciben en el proceso de comunicación interpersonal. Los resultados, interpretados a la luz de las dimensiones culturales de Hofstede, determinan que los principales problemas derivan del control de la incertidumbre y de la distancia jerárquica. Las conclusiones destacan la necesidad de introducir cuestiones culturales en la formación de los directivos expatriados para mejorar las relaciones interpersonales que faciliten la expansión internacional de las empresas.

addressing both the reading public and the internal policies of newspaper publications. To this end the
study analyses how gender issues are addressed, their focus on women, and the type of assignments and
rank accorded to women journalists. There have been significant political and social developments regarding
gender issues in recent years, including measures to ensure parity and to combat domestic violence,
along with a spectacular growth in the number of female university students and women entering
professions that were previously regarded as a male preserve. At the same time, newspapers have been
suffering financially and struggling to maintain their readership and this has led them to concentrate on
the female sector of the market. As a result, a study of local newspapers was carried out to discover how
much newspaper content was dedicated to gender issues; how often women feature as the main focus of
news in articles and photographs; and how often women are used as a source of information; together with
the number of newspaper articles written by women in different sections of the paper, while taking into
account the fact that female readership varied considerably according to the different newspapers
analysed.

The case study of Santiponce, a town of 7500 inhabitants in Andalucia, southern Spain, presents a paradoxical situation: the town has an important tourist attraction, the Roman archaeological site of Italica, but this is largely ignored by the residents. The archaeological site of Italica is the third most-visited monument of the Andalusian Autonomous Community, preceded only by the Alhambra of Granada and the Mosque of Cordoba.

La Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC) constituye una de las preocupaciones más importantes ... more La Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC) constituye una de las preocupaciones más importantes de las organizaciones. El uso de este concepto por la empresa constituye un factor clave para su posicionamiento estratégico en el mercado y en la sociedad en general. En este sentido la comunicación de las acciones de RSC es tan importante como las propias acciones.
Esta investigación se desarrolla en el marco de la Teoría de la Legitimación, y por ello
queremos estudiar mediante el análisis de contenido y del discurso cómo afecta la adopción de medidas de RSC a los contenidos de diarios de información general.
Para ello proponemos el análisis de un diario de nivel nacional como es El País, que experimentó un cambio radical el 21 de octubre de 2007 (el primero en sus 31 años).
Analizaremos de forma longitudinal el producto informativo en relación a los parámetros de la RSC.
