From the perspective of teaching scheme: cultivating and training undergraduates driven by engineering education accreditation

Published: 12 May 2017 Publication History

Abstract

According to the status of unified enrollment of computer specialty for undergraduates in BIT (Beijing Institute of Technology) and the mode of EEEP (Excellent Engineer Education Project) in China, we analyze the concrete requirements of "Output-Oriented" teaching evaluation in International Engineering Education Accreditation, and propose a FCTS: Five-in-One Closed-loop Training Scheme, which is the key constituent part of innovation in BIT for cultivating engineering and technology professionals. This FCTS, as guideline in Cultivation Program 2016, consists of explicit training objectives, optimized curriculum system, defined graduation qualifications, strengthen quality assurances, and graduation feedback mechanism. The practice of FCTS has been proved in School of Computer Science and Technology, BIT. As a result, this work also offers important reference for other educators for making teaching program.
