Questionnaire TPI indicators are important to obtain valid direct comparisons between teachers in Africa and Asia. The process of developing a questionnaire served as an avenue for researchers from Asian and African regions to learn about TPI pointers from each other. This study used the Delphi technique to achieve consensus on valid TPI indicators across African and Asian regions. The study adopted the non-experimental correlational research design. The sample for the study consisted of 264 senior secondary school year two (SSS II) chemistry students from randomly selected ten senior secondary schools within Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State. The valid and reliable research instruments used for data collection were Mathematical problem-solving skill test (MPST α=0.62), Conceptual Understanding Test (CUT α=0.66) and Stoichiometry Achievement Test (SAT α=0.75) to collect information from the participants. In particular, the need to address the little or no consideration of practical work in science teaching/learning process in distance education seems to have received greater attention presently. This paper focuses on students’ perception of practical work in learning science through distance education. Data were collected from 450 science students of National Open University of Nigeria using questionnaire as research instrument and descriptive survey design. The research questions raised were answered using frequency counts and percentages. The results indicate that students placed a high value on practical work in the learning of sciences in distance education.
