The participants took part in classes on the use of video games console
PlayStation 3. 57 senior (over 60 years of age) learners took part in the study. They have been randomly assigned to control
and experimental groups. The control group took part in traditional classes and the experiment group took part in locationbased
game. The aim of the study was to answer the research question: Does the learning of information and communications technologies by seniors with the use of location-based game improve the quality of learning (indicated by the time of realising
the task, number of questions asked during the realisation of the task, seniors’ evaluation of the technology, of the classes
and of their own competences)? Seniors evaluated the classes, the technology and their own competences by means of
original questionnaire consisting of grading attractiveness, usefulness and difficulty of the class and the technology, and
grading their own ability to use the technology, the want to use the technology and the recommendation of the technology to
others. As the results of the experiment indicate the learning of information and communications technologies by seniors with
the use of location-based game improves the quality of their learning. The use of location-based game increases significantly
the pace of assimilation of the knowledge by the learners as indicated by the time of realising the task. It also increases the
level of self-reliability of the learners as indicated by the number of questions asked during the realisation of the task. However, it does not affect learners’ perception of the technology, the classes and their own competences as is indicated by the evaluation

When searching for the “Indo-European” vision of fatherhood following the advice of Georges Duméz... more When searching for the “Indo-European” vision of fatherhood following the advice of Georges Dumézil one can turn to India and the oldest surviving religious text of this culture: the Rigveda. Rigveda is the first of the Vedas, the most authoritative scriptures of Hinduism. Fatherhood in the hymns of Rigveda has numerous connotations and is evoked in various situations. There are references to fatherhood among Gods, Seers, Ancestors as well as to the earthly fatherhood. Fatherhood among Gods is evoked in the description of genealogical relationship among Gods and other supernatural beings or phenomena and also as metaphorical idealisation of the Gods. Fatherhood is also evoked in the defining of the relationship between humans and Gods: particular Gods or their whole community. The Seers are also described as the fathers of mankind. Fatherhood appears in the references to the Ancestors – the creators of tradition, worthy of imitation. Human, earthly fatherhood is also evoked.

Rigweda jest pierwszą z Wed, najbardziej autorytatywnych ksiąg hinduizmu. Ojcostwo w hymnach Rigwedy posiada wiele konotacji i przywoływane jest w różnych sytuacjach. Rekonstrukcja historyczna, nazywana również odtwórstwem historycznym, zyskała w Polsce popularnoś... more Rekonstrukcja historyczna, nazywana również odtwórstwem historycznym, zyskała w Polsce popularność na przełomie XX i XXI wieku. Szybko zainteresowały się tym zjawiskiem media oraz twórcy programów szkolnych czy nauczyciele. Jej zwolennicy przedstawiają ją jako bezpośrednią, autentyczną, „zmysłową”, lepszą od „podręcznikowego” i „szkolnego” poznawania historii. Jednak rekonstrukcja historyczna nie jest bezpośrednim „powrotem do przeszłości”, lecz odmienną formę zapośredniczenia (a więc – medium) i jako taka obarczona jest innymi niż podręczniki, charakterystycznymi dla siebie, zniekształceniami; nie jest jednak od nich wolna. Potrzeba bezpośredniego poznania jest naturalną dla człowieka, dlatego duże uznanie zyskuje każde medium, które daje nadzieję na przekroczenie zapośredniczenia.
Historic reconstruction, called as well historic reproduction, has become popular since the end of 20th century. Media, educators and teachers has become interested in this phenomenon. Its propagators present it as a direct, authentic, sensual, better than from the textbook and school-like method of learning history. However, historic reconstruction is not a direct “back to the past” form but a different form of reproduction, so a kind of medium, and as such it has different than textbooks deformations, it is not free from them. Its popularity is connected with the hope of crossing the reproduction because the need of direct learning is a natural human need.

Wolf, a third wave feminist, in her controversial essay "The Porn Myth" discusses the question of switching previously taken seats: pornography has become a model for sex and sex the reflection of pornography. She sees the coming of the Internet and the adjustment of pornography to this medium as the root of the aforementioned transition. Contemporary pornography is a point where the works of postmodernists (especially J. Baudrillard and his theory of simulation and simulacra) and the pessimistic historiosophy of traditionalists and conservatives (particularly J. Evola and J. R. R. Tolkien) meet. Focusing on the achievements of the postmodern world and traditional spirituality researchers can be very useful in portraying this complex and controversial phenomenon.

Then, the foundations of qualitative content analysis are described, as well as research procedures, the issue of naming content analysis either as a method or technique, and the problem of triangulation.
After an introduction to the Polish conservative circles and an explanation of how conservatives themselves understand conservatism, the qualitative content analysis of the two most significant Polish conservative Web-portals concerning the issues of education and upbringing is presented. In the conclusions the author emphasizes the distinction between conservative postulates concerning education and upbringing and their extremely negative evaluation of the state of contemporary education as well as the radical negation of contemporary reality by the conservatives and their alienation.

Jest wiele sposobów, w jakie prowadzący może wykorzystać ciekawość i entuzjazm seniorów przy wkraczaniu w świat Internetu. Ciąży na nim jednak duża odpowiedzialność, gdyż to od niego w dużej mierze zależy, jaka będzie jakość tego pierwszego poważnego kontaktu seniorów z globalną siecią. Musi też wskazać uczestnikom kursu potencjalne niebezpieczeństwa w sieci oraz wskazać, jak należy unikać zagrożeń. Wiedza, którą ma przekazać, nie należy do najłatwiejszych, istnieją jednak proste sposoby sprawniejszego jej przekazania. Prowadzący powinien pamiętać o tym, że korzystanie z Internetu może nie tylko być kolejną umiejętnością ułatwiającą codzienne życie, ale także dającą dużo satysfakcji przygodą.

Comics (despite its history dating back to the end of 19 century) is still a medium undervalued a... more Comics (despite its history dating back to the end of 19 century) is still a medium undervalued and underestimated. However, in comics one may discover role models important for the readers, who shape their own understanding of family, aims of family life or proper forms of its realization by accepting, negating or reinterpreting those role models. The aim of comics is the creation (within one piece) of a language understood by as many readers as possible. Popularity of comic books, specificity of its forms of expression and relatively low cost of “production” made possible attempts of the use of this for ideological goals since its very beginnings. Those attempts have been made by both groups at power as well as those who tried to resist their pressure. Ideological entanglement is not only observed in the case of comics consciously used for spreading a specific agenda. It also exists in comics, which, according to their authors, “only tell a story”. Those entanglements arise from the worldview of the creators or references to other comics, which were in any way ideologically entangled. One of the features of the comics portrayal of family is that family usually is a part of the background, not the main theme. There are two main kinds of family portrayal in comics: criticism and affirmation. Even though family is not one of the main themes of comics it may be considered the “litmus paper” of comics ideological entanglement. Family is the oldest human institution, being both a and . It can be thus stated, that one's relation to the family is one's relation to the traditional world.
