Agata Brajerska

Dr hab. AGATA BRAJERSKA-MAZUR is an Adjunct Professor in the Institute of Applied Linguistics at the Maria Curie University of Lublin (UMCS) and of Comparative Literature at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), where she teaches translation and introduces katena — a special method of evaluating translated texts, as devised in her doctoral dissertation, On English Translations of Norwid’s Works, which was published in book form by TN KUL in 2002. She specializes in translation studies and the works of Cyprian Kamil Norwid. Her articles concerning these subjects have appeared several times in Studia Norwidiana, Pamiętnik Literacki, Babel, and others. She has twice received a Norwid Foundation grant for research on Norwid’s translations into English. Recently she has collaborated with Danuta Borhardt on translations of Norwid’s poems (Poems, Archipelago Books 2012) and also she published a book on English translation of Wislawa Szymborska’s poems (Filutka z filigranu parduje w cudzym losie, Wydawnictwo KUL, 2013).
