So far so good!

Only been with Starling for about 6 weeks but so far so good. Current account transfer went without incident with all payees details landed safely. Only had to sort out a couple of direct debits ‘manually’. The app is easy to use once you’ve got the hang of the layout so no complaints at all. Already transferred another company bank account across, again without incident which says it all I think.

Absolutely brilliant bank

Absolutely brilliant bank, wished we’d have moved across to you, years ago.
It was only on our son’s recommendation that we did after spending the last 45 years with our previous bank.
We’re now in our early 60’s yet find the App and banking options very easy to use.

Starling bank has been great so far

Starling bank has been great so far. I opened an account with Starling to use a card abroad without incurring fees as my current account charges, heftily. Starling has proved to be so much more than a convenient card to use abroad.
My account pays interest monthly, yay!
The email contact from Starling is not overwhelming and each email has nuggets of information that are useful and helpful.
Overall a great account for everyday use and for saving.

The app is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Everything you need is there and organised in a logical way.

The registration process was extremely simple and took less than an hour.

SHOCKING SERVICE- AVOID STARLING BANK

Starling bank gave me one month notice that they were closing my current account. They have provided no reason for closing my account. I called up to complain and was told on the phone they can’t override or provide a reason for this. Would not recommend Starling Bank to anyone! I have been a loyal customer for years with no issues and this is how you get treated. If you are considering having your income paid into a starling account please be aware they will close your account at any time with little notice and no reason. BE CAREFUL-I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service, bank comes straight back to you when you message. Had quite a mission setting up a business account but that was more my responsibility than the bank's. Very easy to use and monitor

Great & Reliable

I recently experienced fraud, and I have to say, the service I received from Starling was outstanding. They acted quickly, ensuring I was fully refunded within just days of reporting it to their fraud department— a stark contrast to Barclays, who took seven weeks, attempted to shift the blame, and ultimately refused to cover the loss.

Since then, I’ve made the switch from Barclays to Starling, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I won’t be looking back

Check approval before switching (for joint account)

Partners account rejected as part of a joint account opening.

We wanted to setup a joint account. In order to do so, you require an individual account with Starling. I applied and switched my current account. However, my partner applied (with good credit scores, etc) and was rejected without any information as to why. The switch can not be cancelled. I now have an account I don't need, and we will have to look elsewhere for a joint account from another provider.

Save the trouble

Save the trouble - DO NOT BANK WITH STARLING.

It’s difficult to move money, verification seems to be required to spend the most modest of sums and the customer service lack common sense. I have had several bank accounts and this bank is an absolute nightmare.

Anybody on Trustpilot suggesting Starling bank is anything above 1 star genuinely dumbfounds me. Moreover, anyone suggesting the customer service team are anything but dense leaves me truly puzzled.

Stay away from Starling - I wish I did.

The Starling Bank really impresses me.…

The Starling Bank current account really impresses me.
Easy to register and to use the App.
The prime reason for me registering was to avoid paying foreign currency transaction fees when booking directly with hotels etc abroad.
Also, the current account gives an impressive rate of interest on funds.

Purchased a product but hadn’t received

I had purchased a product from a company but I never received it.And for over a month they were giving me the run around every email I sent they would apologise and tell me to wait and check with the neighbours because it says delivered.
I must have sent them What seem like 100 emails requesting them to send the product or please refund me..
I contacted Starling bank not knowing if they could help me ,but in a few minutes of speaking to their customer service on a message chat..They pointed me to the correct information I needed..
I followed the instructions which was easy enough and that very same day the money was back in my account.
Starling did email me to tell me they had put the money in the account and to just make sure that there was money in the account incase the company wanted to dispute r the claim.

Worst bank ever money launders money

Worst bank ever money launders money, doesn't prevent fraudulent activity occuring on accounts and does not take complaints seriously. Already informed them that my bank has been in touch to try and recover the fraudulent money they have allowed to be taken without my consent. I will be reporting to the financial Ombudsman and FCA as well as taking you to the claims court to recover my money avoid this bank if you want your money to be safe

Highly Recommend

I've only been with Starling for five months but already the experience has been significantly superior to that of the normal UK banks. The app is very clear, with lots of intuitive options to make banking not only easier but to also keep you informed of incomings and outgoings faster. The App also helps breakdown all your spending habits. Going abroad there is no interest charge when paying with Starling and there is an in-App calculator that converts your currency to the currency of the country that you'd like to check. Very simple to set up and use. Highly recommend.
