Great experience

The tour itinerary for Cuba was well thought out and the local agents handled all the local issues well. Cuba isnt perhaps the easiest place to travel so expect the unexpected. We went 1 week after the national blackout for 3 days, so this was a bit of a concern, but Cox & Kings handled this well by making some changes to the accommodation to ensure we would still be comfortable.

Great Sri Lankan experience

We enjoyed the holiday very much. It was a good and interesting
itinerary led by a superb guide and tour leader, Dilip Fernando.
Everything was well planned and on time. Sri Lanka is a lovely
country with very friendly, hospitable and smiley people. The standard
of accommodation was excellent generally, although the last hotel
could have been better. The group got on well. Happy to recommend Cox and Kings to others and likely to travel again with them, as we have done several times.

Grand Tour of India - excellent

Our Grand Tour of India was an excellent tour, covering many wonderful sights and experiences. To do that, there is a lot of internal travelling and things can go wrong, but that is outside Cox and King’s control and travellers must be willing to accept those challenges as and when they occur.

We stayed in a number of hotels in various locations, as no hotel stay was longer than 2 nights. Some hotels were very modern, with all amenities, and some were older with more character but weaker on room facilities.

In summary, we had a fabulous trip. The itinerary was very full and a lot was crammed in, but we had no problem with that. The staff that C&K employ were excellent at all levels - bus driver, his assistant and local office staff in different cities.

We would recommend this tour without hesitation

Annoying

Annoying: Repeated requests for details, despite my phone call explaining that passport
being renewed. Also, flights not yet booked.

All reps were in place to meet us

All reps were in place to meet us, except one. Hotels were good quality and trips were interesting. The only disappointment was the extra trip to a gaucho ranch in Buenos Aires that we paid 380 US dollars for. We were taken to a country farm for a bbq. The rep said she would report this obvious mistake but we have heard nothing back from Cox And Kings. The entire group felt this was a wasted day and very, very overpriced.

Silk Road trip to Uzbekistan with Cox…

Silk Road trip to Uzbekistan with Cox &Kings, fantastic sights, itinerary full-on but couldn’t fault as we saw so much. Hotels and restaurants all very good. Our guide Babur was excellent, his knowledge was exceptional and was always happy to answer any questions. I travelled in a group as a single woman but was fine and felt perfectly safe. The people, food and country is so worth a visit.

Solo traveller . Terrible experience .

Solo traveller . First time experience of this company .
Cox & Kings perfectly nice people with zero administrative capability . They happily took my money for a holiday that they then managed to forget to book despite an email thread discussing the holiday dates and confirmation .
This was only discovered when I chased them for the documents a few weeks before departure . I was offered alternative dates despite telling them four times over two different phone calls that I wanted a full refund . Though every cloud has a silver lining and mine was relief their incompetence was discovered here in the UK and not in the middle of the trip.

Definitely won’t be using this company again

Dear Ms Lewis,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us and please accept my apologies once again that we were unable to confirm your booking on this occasion.

As you are aware, this is not simply a case of us taking your money and not booking anything for you. Your original booking was made back in February for an October departure and this was all confirmed as per the documents sent out to you on 5th February.

However, you had requested a date amendment in July for a November departure and it was unfortunately this change that was not reconfirmed due to an error on our side. I want to assure you that this is not a fair reflection of our usual level of service, however, we do appreciate that this was disappointing for you and I sincerely apologise once again that our service has fallen below expectations on this occasion.

We have tried to contact you by phone to discuss any out of pocket expenses you may incurred as a result of this cancellation, however, despite leaving a voice message we have not heard back from you. If you would like to discuss these further please do not hesitate to contact us by return.

On behalf of Cox & Kings I would again like to apologise for your disappointment on this occasion and i do hope that you will reconsider using our services in the future.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards

Our grand tour of South America

My wife and I enjoyed the Grand tour of South America. All tour guides were excellent, helpful, pleasant, spoke fluently except one tour guide in Peru. The hotel accommodation in all places were excellent (except one). The Andean Explorer train journey was indeed an experience.
The hotel Inca Utama could be avoided, was not up to the standard expected, instead travel further and stay in La Paz would have been much better. City tour in Buenos Aires was too short, a full day city tour is more preferred. The optional tour in Buenos Aires was not worth the price paid.
Nevertheless, it was a fantastic tour, everything worked perfectly, and the quality of the tour was outstanding. We had booked directly with Cox & Kings and the booking was pretty straight forward. and provided follow up information on time. All in all, the trip was a good experience for us as this is the first time us joining a group tour and we enjoyed the trip very much.

Busy, but very well organised trip with excellent guides and reliable transport.

Fantastic trip with a busy timetable and some long days, but my goodness the wonders you see, just fabulous! Hotels were superb as were all of the guides who assisted us along the way. They made the logistics of moving 19 people and their luggage around for 17 days look easy.

A great well organised trip to Peru

A great well organised trip to Peru. Lake Titicaca, Machu Pichu, seeing the Condors in flight, the Llama's and Vicunas roaming wild. It was spectacular.

The guides were informative without being stuffy, the hotels were all great and the Belmond train trip from Puno to Cuzco was amazing

Well organised - and a great experience

Well organised, with easy travel arrangements and good quality accommodation. Food was plentiful - perhaps too much at times!
Very friendly fellow travellers so singletons were comfortable
Well informed and helpful Tour leader who took any (minor) problems in his stride. He took pains to talk not only about the history of the country and the sites but also the social and economic side of Uzbekistan.
We saw a huge amount on the tour, and not just beautiful historical monuments - but it was quite full on!

Southern Caucasus tour

Just finished our tour of the Southern Caucasus and absolutely loved Georgia and Armenia but sadly didn’t have time in Azerbaijan. Arrived at our hotel at 7am after flight delay and nobody to pick us up at airport (disgraceful). Having waited nearly 2 hours for our guide we ended up getting a taxi. Tour guide said our tour starts at 9am but we all declined but agreed 11am
So with less than 2 hours sleep in 24 hours we were rushed around the sites for 10 hours even seeing (or not) in the dark. Next days tours didn’t happen as we were taken straight to Sheki then the next morning to the Georgian border so that was our Azerbaijan experience and all the guide did was get rid of us asap.
Flight times were really bad even without the delay.
Border crossing into Georgia wasn’t easy but loved the country and guide was lovely. Border crossing into Armenia was easy and again guide was lovely. Armenia was the icing on the cake with a wow factor around every corner, spectacular.
Flights home were a nightmare with not enough turn round time for our connecting flight which of course we missed and were put up in a hotel nearly a hours drive from airport, put in rooms with awful noise from somewhere all night so again no sleep.
Flight times need sorting and if you want to actually see anything of beautiful Baku you need more time.
Also you need to be quite fit for all the steps that you need to climb for the churches and monisteries you will visit. On a plus side I did lose weight 😊

Admin before travelling

Admin before travelling - once Cox & Kings had my money getting information out of them was like getting blood out of a stone. Multiple emails then finally response full of apologies but no improvement. Very disappointing. Additionally I asked (and they confirmed) that my temporary restricted mobility was passed to the local guides together with dietary requirement. This did not happen - they had no idea until the guide in the first city passed it back and then it was promulgated.

Exceeded my expectations and nothing was too much trouble

I recently booked a tour to South America and was looking for a flight upgrade to Premium Economy. David went out of his way to look at options and found me an upgrade to Business flying out and Premium returning, for about the price I had hoped to pay just for Premium. As I wouldn't be flying with the main tour, David also arranged an additional day in the first hotel.

Throughout all our discussions, nothing was too much trouble and the whole process was painless.

Just returned today from a 2 week first…

Just returned today from a 2 week first trip to South Africa. Our tour manager, Janice David’s excelled in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. Equally our driver for the tour, Quintin was highly skilful and very accommodating. Staying at the Homestead at Kariega Game reserve was a particular highlight and a special treat. The whole trip did not disappoint and our fellow travellers were great company. Two thoughts for future trips: The cruise aboard the John Benn was a waste of time especially given we had a wonderful trip, the same day to Featherbed. The Cape Town Hollow Hotel did not live up to 4 star expectations. A Hotel at the V&A Waterfront would be more suitable Overall a really great holiday
