Creating the change we want to see This year at Edinburgh International TV Festival we were proud to bring together creatives from across our industry to discuss how we can make content with impact, why we should use our position to raise awareness and galvanise change and what are the challenges. On the panel Ade Adepitan, Ashley James, Richie Mehta, Sarah Lazenby and David MacPherson shared their insights and advice for the audience. They explored the importance of authentic storytelling, perseverance in getting your story commissioned and the power of being on the right side of history. Thank you to everyone who came to see the panel and to our speakers for being so candid in sharing their experiences. The BAFTA albert 2023 Annual Review is here. This is the most comprehensive sustainability review that albert has released, looking at the progress made by the film and TV industries in improving environmental sustainability. 2023 was the year the industry reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability with over 3,000 productions tracking their carbon footprint, more films and international productions using the toolkit and the first ever Climate Themes Snapshot revealing 31% of albert certified productions included climate references. In this year’s report, we have also highlighted the significant efforts across the industry to address the impact of climate change on production and raise awareness through storytelling. We’re excited to showcase case studies of these initiatives, including a special feature on ITV's Emmerdale, which you can see brought to life in the video below. 🌍🎬 We are excited to share the new BAFTA albert Biodiversity Resources Page! This page accompanies the Biodiversity Guide, released last year, and has all the latest guidance covering; nature friendly productions, legal requirements, protecting biodiversity in your supply chain and how to measure the business impact of choosing to protect nature. We’ve also updated the Biodiversity Guide, to provide additional support for those in the industry looking to have nature-positive impacts on their productions.
