Wonderful news to hear Cardiff Living Wage City Steering Group has been recognised with a prestigious prize for its outstanding work on the #RealLivingWage in the city. 👏 #Cardiff became the first Capital City in the UK to be recognised as a #LivingWageCity back in 2019. Since then 67,000 people now work for one of Cardiff’s 225 accredited #LivingWage employers and almost 13,000 of those have had a pay rise to the real Living Wage, which has injected an additional £82.7 million into the local economy. ➡️ The UK general election results are in and as a key stakeholder representing over 160,000 members, we are looking forward to working with the new government. There will be a lot for #HR and L&D professionals to get to grips with during the next few months and years, with changes to skills policy, new employment laws through the New Deal for Working People and a big focus from the new Chancellor on closing the #GenderPayGap. We'll be looking to engage with the new government on all these areas based on the calls in our Manifesto for Good Work: 1️⃣ ensure the skills system and policies meet varied needs of employers 2️⃣ establish effective policies to create healthier work 3️⃣ develop fairer work, improving equality of access to employment and progression, while addressing skills shortages. Our Chief Executive Peter Cheese has welcomed the opportunity to work with the new government here: https://ow.ly/gwUU50SvJ74 #GE24 #GeneralElection #Labour #NewDealForWorkingPeople #CIPDManifesto #ManifestoForGoodWork #CIPD #UKElection24

Today, we held our fourth half day conference in Cardiff and, what a wonderful, inspiring, emotional and valuable day it was: Neurodiversity and the workplace. We had the pleasure of welcoming more than 120 people professionals, academics, students - amongst others- to learn about #neurodiversity from the CIPD perspective, to academic and practical information, individual and organisations journeys and a broader discussion on policy. Thank you so much to our fantastic guest speakers and panelists , it was a privilege to listen to you today. Truly inspiring and moving.
