🇱🇻Here's the next of our #NIS2 local country updates... #Latvia! 🇱🇻 Whilst Latvia does not go as far as Hungary in ditching the main establishment principle, the exceptions mean this should be hot on the radar of any business with operations or providing services in Latvia. Many thanks as ever to our colleagues Mikijs Zīmecs and Sarmis Spilbergs at Ellex Legal, and Salma Eleyan and James Walsh at Fieldfisher in London.

📣🇮🇹#NIS2 update klaxon for the new law in #Italy which is in force from today! 🇮🇹📣 This is a more straightforward implementation than we have seen in #Hungary and #Latvia. However, the potential for #management bodies to have personal liability for the entity's failings (potentially including any regulatory fines) is an important consideration. Get in touch with myself, James Walsh or our brilliant Italian #Cybersecurity team of Diego Rigatti and Paola La Notte if you have any queries.

Fieldfisher's Tech and Data practice has been working with local counsel to track the implementation of NIS2 across Europe. In the second of our country law updates, we look at Belgium's implementing Act and some of the key points you need to know: 🔹 **Registration Deadline:** DNS service providers, TLD name registries, cloud computing service providers, data centre service providers, managed (security) service providers etc. must register by 18 December 2024 with the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) 🔹 **Infosec requirements:** The Belgian implementing act does not set out additional cybersecurity risk management measures. Conformity assessments are mandatory for essential entities. 🔹 **Main Establishment Principle:** Belgium has implemented the main establishment principle.
