Renewable Energy Insights: REPD Q3 2024 Dashboard Our team used Microsoft Power BI to analyze and visualize publicly available data from the Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD). This dashboard provides a clear view of the progress in renewable energy projects from 2001 to 2024, offering valuable insights into the growth of sustainable energy. Key Highlights: Offshore Wind leading the way with a total capacity of 89,506 MW. However, while applications for new projects remain strong at 1,204 approved projects, installed capacity has seen a noticeable decline compared to the last decade. This trend may reflect shifting priorities or emerging challenges in maintaining historical growth levels. Battery technology is experiencing unprecedented momentum, with a total capacity of 71,123 MW. This includes 35,757 MW approved and 35,366 MW pending, highlighting its rapid adoption and crucial role in grid stability and renewable integration. Battery Storage has seen a 50% growth in planning applications relative to its 10-year average, underscoring its significance as a key driver in the clean energy transition . Energy from Waste (EfW), with a total capacity of 3,866 MW, demonstrates steady progress despite a drop in new applications. Approved capacity stands at 3,177 MW, emphasizing increased efficiency and optimized resource utilization, making EfW a vital part of the renewable energy mix. Hydrogen is emerging as a standout technology, with a total capacity of 648 MW, including 572 MW approved and 77 MW pending. Applications have more than tripled, and installed capacity continues to surge, signaling its potential to become a transformative player in the renewable energy sector. Onshore Wind faces a slowdown, as both applications and installed capacity have decreased this quarter. This reflects potential challenges or a shift in focus toward Offshore Wind and other emerging technologies like Battery and Hydrogen. Emerging Technologies to Watch: Anaerobic Digestion and Advanced Conversion Technologies contribute 336 MW and 231 MW operational capacity, respectively, showcasing their impact on waste-to-energy innovation. New solutions like liquid air energy storage and tidal stream are gaining traction as part of the broader energy mix. Why Zebra EM? At Zebra EM, we combine data expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver insights that drive renewable energy strategy and investment. Using tools like Power BI, we enable organizations to: Track renewable energy trends. Compare progress across technologies and regions. Identify growth opportunities for a sustainable future. Data Source: This analysis is based on publicly available data from the Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD), October 2024 (Q3) Let’s connect to accelerate the renewable energy transition together. Project Manager @ Qube Renewables

🌍 Tackling CO2 Emissions with Innovation! 🌿 In Europe, solid biomass combustion alone produces 437 million tonnes of CO2 annually. Add to that 70 million tonnes from biogas upgrading, combustion, and bioethanol fermentation processes, and the total reaches a staggering 507 million tonnes of CO2 per year—almost seven times the current industrial demand for CO2. Addressing this challenge is crucial. That's where the 3.9 Million Euros COSEC Project (Biogenic CO2 capture into Sustainable Energy Carriers), funded by the EU's Horizon program, comes into play. This project, coordinated by CyanoCapture and supported by 13 partners, focuses on converting captured CO2 into carbon-negative energy carriers. A key emphasis is placed on photosynthetically transforming biogenic CO2 into energy-rich biomass, with methods being validated at a pilot scale. At QUBE Renewables Ltd Renewables, we are proud to be part of this ground-breaking initiative. Our bespoke, modular pilot plant will play a vital role in validating the project's findings. I’m personally involved in coordinating the pilot-scale demonstration, focused on biogas production from algae biomass generated by CO2 capture, while ensuring data integrity with Zebra EM throughout the process. The seahorse in the background is an excellent piece of art by Bordalo II, a famous Portuguese artist known for using waste and recycled trash in his art. #CO2Capture #SustainableEnergy #BioEnergy #HorizonEurope #COSECProject QUBE Renewables Ltd #ClimateAction #GreenEnergy #CarbonNegative Zebra EM Blue Planet Environmental Solutions #EUFunding
