This week's awesome #PhotoOfTheWeek was taken by YAA Paramedic Stewart when being collected by our aircraft at Leeds General Infirmary. When we attend an incident, it isn't always about flying someone to the hospital. We deliver critical care to the scene, ensuring that those effected get the emergency care the need, as quickly as possible. When a person needs further treatment at a hospital, we, together with the other emergency services in attendance, will decide the best course of action for the person involved. That may be flying them to hospital, but sometimes it may be transporting them via road ambulance. In this case, members of our crew will often travel with them to continue care and treatment on the way. When this happens, our pilot and TCM will collect the medical crew from the hospital a little later ensuring the crew are back online and available immediately to respond to the next incident. #ViewFromTheCrew #Yorkshire #AirAmbulance #AlwaysReadyAlwaysThere

In September we attended 113 incidents across Yorkshire, with 31 callouts being to cardiac arrests and 29 to road traffic collisions. The hospital our crews flew to the most was Leeds General Infirmary. We'd like to thank long-term YAA supporters Evelyn Partners A team of 20 staff took their fundraising to new heights by climbing Snowdon in September and raised a total of £1,859 plus £447.25 in gift aid. This was then match-funded by the company and the team recently presented us with a cheque for an amazing £4,165.25. A gardener slices through his fingers when repairing a lawn mower, and the paramedics use a specialist procedure to reduce his agonising pain. Elsewhere, a horse rider needs urgent treatment for a suspected broken pelvis after falling from her horse - and a teenager suffers a potentially lethal asthma attack in one of the most remote parts of the Yorkshire Dales.
