Notably, when acting as a Principal Consultant at ERM, Xavier led and provided subject matter expert advice to green hydrogen production projects, including electrolyser due diligences, techno-economic analyses and market studies. #India has unveiled an auction for the supply of green ammonia with identified 10-year offtake from domestic fertilizer producers, with a volume of 539,000 tonnes/year (min). Key insights 👇 📃 State authority Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited is to manage the award and act as intermediary offtaker, signing 10-year contracts with the awarded bidders, and a back-to-back supply agreement with fertilizer producers with committed green demand ranging from 4ktpa to 100ktpa. 📆 The tender conditions show strict guarantee, timeline and payment obligations from bidders, with notably the obligation to reach FID within 12 months of the award backed by sizeable bank guarantees. 🌏 Bids -due July 31, 2024- can be submitted by international and Indian companies/consortium compliant with a minimum financial net worth threshold on the basis of a preliminary technical concept. #GreenHydrogen #Fertilizers #Auction #GreenAmmonia #GreenHydrogen

The European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) Investment Bank recently released a report on "Financing sustainable liquid fuel projects in #Europe." An interesting paper which, notably, provides insights on the barriers shadowing the growth of sustainable fuels growth in the #EU: ✈️🚢Aviation and maritime sectors seem to have a higher future demand than road transport due to various EU initiatives such as ReFuelEU Aviation and ReFuelEU Maritime, promoting the increased usage of sustainable fuels 💰The report consulted 34 companies working in the sustainable fuel market, giving a fair assessment of how the market looks, showing the increase in aviation and maritime offtake and developers preferring large-scale projects to achieve economies of scale 📈A mix of market barriers, such as uncertain regulations and lack of market, along with technological barriers like technology risk and "green premium", is hindering the project's ability to access finance for large-scale sustainable liquid fuel deployment #efuels #decarbonisation #aviation #maritime #netzero #europeancommission #europeaninvestmentbank

Green hydrogen for shipping will receive subsidies in #Norway. Norwegian state-owned Enova SF, under the Klima- og miljødepartementet, will provide investment support via a competitive bidding process for projects that will produce H2 for use in the maritime industry   With the applications to the first round set to be concluded by 5 September 2024, the tender aims for: 🛢The production of renewable H2 (#RFNBO) 💰Support rate limited to 80% of the project's approved additional costs  📍Projects will compete within its locality (based on price areas for power such as Southern Norway, Mid Norge and Northern Norway)   Applicants are ranked based on: 💰Subsidy effectiveness equating to 70% of the score 📋Business plan maturity equating to the remaining 30% of the score     Yamna , a green molecules producer, is developing several green ammonia projects worldwide. Interested in partnering? 💰The first EU Hydrogen Bank auction awarded €720 mn in subsidies last week to produce 1.58 mn tons over the period of 10 years to produce 1.58mn tons of renewable hydrogen 📈Projected European renewable hydrogen hotspots such as Portugal (2 bids), Spain (3 bids), Norway (1 bid), and Finland (1 bid) clean up subsidies with the 7 winning bids (~ 1.5 GW) selected out of 132 (~8.3 GW) 💰With an average clearing bid of €0.46/kg, the bids have been way short of the ceiling price of €4.5/kg and well below the estimated Levelised Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH), therefore requiring offtakers to pay a “green premium” to cover the cost gap 🏭Despite the higher willingness to pay in the mobility sector, more bids were received for the industrial use of hydrogen, with a predominance of fixed-price offtake contracts #greenhydrogen #cleanhydrogen #EU #subsidy #decarbonisation #netzero #Portugal #Spain #Norway #Finland #EHB #RFNBO #DGCLIMA #EuropeanCommission #Yamna

🌟Yamna is thrilled to share that it has been awarded exclusive rights to develop, own and operate a landmark 1 million tonnes per year green ammonia project in Oman, alongside its Consortium partners EDF, EDF Renouvelables and #JPOWER. 🏗️ The Consortium has been awarded a 341km2 land block by Hydrom, an Omani state-owned entity leading Oman's hydrogen vision, in the Governorate of Dhofar, Oman.  ⚡Leveraging Oman's abundant renewable energy resources, the Consortium plans to install approximately 4.5 GW of wind and solar capacity alongside battery storage. Additionally, a state-of-the-art c. 2.5 GW electrolyser will be implemented to produce hydrogen. This hydrogen will then be used in an ammonia plant to be constructed in the Salalah Free Zone. 📝 The signing of the Project agreements occurred today during the Oman Sustainability Week - OSW and marks a successful collaboration between Hydrom and the Consortium. These agreements grant exclusive rights to develop, build, own, operate, and maintain the project for 47 years. 📈 This milestone signifies Oman's emergence as one of the pioneers in renewable hydrogen.
