WT Nottingham and WT Birmingham - Team Summer Social Golfing Day To close out the summer the WT Nottingham and WT Birmingham offices teamed up for their Summer Social event Golf Day. Held at Branston Golf & Country Club, Burton-Upon-Trent on a beautiful sunny day both teams spent two and a half hours on the golf driving range with lunch provided. A good time was had by all enhanced by a club professional being on hand to help tutor everyone in the right direction. Most of the team were beginner level with the exception of Steve and Tom who both kindly provided some coaching to their teammates. All left feeling pretty tired at the end of the day but some golfing talent was certainly spotted in the mix for next time. Special thanks to Steve Ramage for his recommendation of the venue, loan of clubs and ad-hoc coaching, it made for a great afternoon. Here’s looking forward to the next one! #WTteamday #BranstonGolfCourse #WTNottingham WTBirmingham #WTPartnership

Sushil Patel of WT Cambridge was invited as a panellist at the Voices in Construction discussion held by BCM Agency Ltd on 18th July. Having held this event over the last 7 years this year’s topic was Building a Safer Future: Insights from the Voices in Construction panel. The discussion proved to be a great chance to share and learn to help move the future of fire safety forward. Hosted and chaired by Simon Fletcher, Head of Content at BCM Agency Ltd and moderated by the agency’s CEO, Miriam Drahmane, and Head of Insight, Sara Stephen. The six panellists, David Aitchison, India Brenchley, Simon Green FCIBSE CEng, Alex Lyons, Mike N., Pippa Tovey, and WT’s Sushil Patel, gave their insights on the crucial topic of fire safety and regulatory changes. One of the key questions, in-light of past tragedies, was that fire safety laws have rapidly evolved but are these changes sufficient? And do we have the resources to effectively implement them? The industry experts gave broad and diverse perspectives from across the construction industry.
