Women in Transport Mentor and Transport for London Data Scientist, Sonja Jutte has made a really impactful short film on how transport systems are vital to the quest to cure blood cancer.
Excited to see my film celebrating Transport for London and Anthony Nolan out. We can't beat blood cancer without transport networks. Please: 1) Watch ( 1 min 50secs) 2) Repost and/ or comment 3) Support Anthony Nolan in the form of money or stem cell donor sign ups :-) 4) Connect with me - the next phase of my campaign is launching soon. https://lnkd.in/e5aYsw5Q

It's back to school and back to work for a lot of people! Getting back into routine and the day to day after a break can be stressful! Empathy is something that you can have too much of, believe it or not! People with too much empathy, even though it's a great trait, can say yes to lots of things and get overwhelmed. If we know people are really empathetic, we can try to not rely on them so much and give them space. Equally, if you know you're super empathetic, trying saying no, if that might be tricky, think about when you can realistically get to it with your own time in mind and say that you can help but it'll be then. It takes practice but can lead to less overwhelm in the long term! Our monthly banana behaviours are brought to you by Jon Manning, Founder of Arthur Ellis: Mental Health Support. Jon and his team offer 1-to-1 support sessions for people who would otherwise have limited or restricted access to mental health services. Events season is underway! Brilliant to see so many old friends (and new) at the Women in Transport autumn reception generously hosted by KPMG last night. A great summary of all that’s going on from President Jo Field Chart.PR FCIPR FCIHT followed by a brilliant panel discussion on inclusive design in transport: Key takeaways: 🚉 amazing but frustrating to hear from Tanni Grey- Thompson about her recent experience travelling - if we carry on at our current rate it will be 100 years before we achieve step free access on trains 🚲when considering inclusion in designing systems we need to ask ourselves is there a difference between inclusion and accessibility? Accessibility should be the floor of requirements not the ceiling 🛴Technology implementation in transport should not be rushed or unintended consequences may follow for womens safety 🚫Don’t assume you know the answers. take advice from someone who has lived the experience if you can.
