I enjoyed speaking at Women in Transport's autumn reception and panel debate on 'Tackling Sustainability and Climate Change'. It was great to share the panel with Joanna (Jo) Ward BSc (Hons) FRGS CMILT MCIHT MTPS, Lilli Matson and Rory Kidger. Special thanks to Samantha Unger for chairing the panel and hosting us at Deloitte's offices. This is a topic that's important to me personally because influencing the transport industry to decarbonise is one of my priorities as Women in Transport President. It is also a key focus of my day job as chief exec of JFG Communications. I mentioned on the panel that I'm particularly interested in the link between a more diverse workforce and greener policies and I'd welcome more research into this. I'm massively encouraged by the expertise we have in our Women in Transport membership and I would welcome hearing from our members on what more we can do to influence the transport industry to decarbonise. It was also very encouraging to hear Lili talk about everything TfL is doing to lead the way in this area. My key takeaways were that bold political leadership is needed to decarbonise and this should be combined with community engagement to understand barriers to adaption and co-create solutions / bring people with you. #WomeninTransport #PanelDebate #Transport #ClimateChange #Sustainability #SustainableTransport #Decarbonisation
