"We want to try and have that voice for the female community in the industry and really get the experts speaking at these panels." Leading an energy-focused agency for the past 20 years, Women in New Energy Co-Founder, Annabel Sall, has attended thousands of events and while she has seen significant progress in representation, there is still a lot more work to be done. Speaking with Owen Wyatt from E-FWD about the success of this year's W.I.N.E event, Annabel shared her insight into how mentorship and allies are the key to continued progress across the sector. Watch the full interview below ↆ #WomenInNewEnergy #Mentorship #DEI
It was great to catch up with E-FWD member Annabel Sall the CEO of Aberdeen based ThinkPR (Scotland) Ltd after another successful collaboration with Erikka Askeland and the team at Energy Voice to deliver the latest Women in New Energy event. The response to the event has given Emma Lamont Cara Munro the team here at DC Thomson lot's to focus on as we continue to invest in the brand so it can reach as wide an audience as possible. I've spoken to executives who have been inspired to make bold, brave career decisions after attending WINE events and it's kind of positive, growth mindset momentum we love at E-FWD and Energy Voice. With leaders like Annabel and Beena Sharma involved the sky is the limit for the brand as it continues to grow.

At this year's Women in New Energy event, we announced our biggest goal yet: to eradicate all male-only panels ('manels') at energy industry events in Scotland by September 2025. It’s bold, but we believe it’s achievable. Through the power of the Women in New Energy network and E-FWD’s Community of Learning and directory, organisers will have access to the best minds in all clean, decarbonised energy sectors - who also just happen to be female. Women in New Energy reposted this
📢 Part 5 of our Vision 2030 series 📢 AXIS Network are thrilled to share an interview blog with Dr Nike Folayan MBE (PhD, CEng., FIET), MBE, Co-Founder of Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) and Technical Director WSP. Dr Nike emphasised that the industry talks about 'the best talent' a lot. We don't need the best talent. We need the best teams because the best teams are made-up of people with different strengths and abilities. 💡 There will be some people that will be very technically minded 💡 There will be others that will be strategically minded 💡 There will be others that their focus is on empathy and making everyone feel included Until we have teams where we have multiple abilities, diverse experiences , talents, skills, we are not going to be as innovative.
