Women's Resource Centre
Non-profit Organizations
WRC is the leading national umbrella organisation for the women’s sector.
About us
The Women’s Resource Centre supports women’s organisations to be more effective and sustainable. We provide training, resources and support to women's organisations and we campaign and lobby on key issues for the sector. Our members work in a wide range of fields including violence against women, employment, education, rights and equality, the criminal justice system and the environment. They deliver services to and campaign on behalf of some of the most marginalised communities of women. We are campaigning for sustainable funding for community-based women’s organisations and to secure a National Women’s Fund to support these vital services. Join our movement and sign our petition to demand investment in the women’s sector at change.org/womensfund

A report recently published by Bond UK calls for a shift away from INGOs' Eurocentric approaches, which often reinforce neo-imperialist structures that keep communities in the Global South underdeveloped. WRC has long advocated for investment in local women’s organisations across the UK, while confronting similar issues of the industrialisation of our sector. We recognise that poverty and inequality cannot be effectively addressed by systems that fail to redistribute power and resources. Read our full response and join the conversation on how we can drive real, transformative change to end oppression: https://lnkd.in/e5QWjm7K

New LinkedIn data shows a concerning trend: the share of women being hired into senior leadership roles in the UK has dropped to 37.1% in 2024, down from 37.8% in 2022. The number of women in senior leadership roles has not only stalled but is also declining—especially for Black and minoritised women. One key factor cited is the lack of mentorship, allyship, and investment in building the confidence and management skills of women. The Network for Black Women Leaders is dedicated to reversing this trend. Apply to join our mentorship today and develop the skills, support, and confidence to take the next step in your leadership journey. 💼✨ Apply here: https://lnkd.in/eDFU7TYN #Leadership #Mentorship #BlackWomenInLeadership #NBWL #CareerGrowth

I’m not usually the one to put my hand up for speaking at conferences. About 15 years ago, I lost my voice—figuratively and literally—so the idea of standing in front of 250 people was something I never imagined myself doing. But here I am, reflecting on such an incredible experience at the GTA Black Women In Tech 4th Annual Voices in The Shadow event hosted on Google Campus last weekend. 🌟 I want to thank Vivienne Hayes and Women's Resource Centre for helping me find my voice again, plus Flavilla Fongang and the amazing team at GTA Black Women In Tech, Daniela C., Sénamé Agblevon, MBCS and every member of the wider team, for creating such an empowering platform that elevates women’s voices and showcases the work of the Network for Black Women Leaders https://lnkd.in/euWGv3XA. I just might raise my hand to do this again! Maybe. 😉 The speakers were all so generous and inspiring: Nnenna Hemeson, Kolisa Benelwa (CISA), Evelyn Oluwole, Yolanda C🌸, Gracious Nyamupachitu, Catherine Park, Candace Oxley, Israa Siddig, Gayle Thompson-Igwebike, Izzy Obeng, Dr. Vanessa Awong Eya'a 🩺, Emily Westwood, and Rianne Quintyn-Brathwaite. If they’re not already on your radar, give them a follow. I’m so excited to connect with you all and so many delegates from the event to continue this journey! #VoicesInTheShadow #BlackWomenInTech #Leadership #NBWL #WomenEmpowerment
