Our final award today is The Best of Britain Award, sponsored by Winvic Construction Ltd. Inspired by Will Britain, the founder of LCRIG, this award celebrates a public sector individual working on the Officer or Manager side of a local authority who has gone above and beyond to engage with their local community, improve local services, change local perceptions or play a key part in the sector. 🏆 Our WINNER is Michael Hansford! Former Highways Asset Management Team Leader at Dorset Council. Mike was nominated by colleagues at Dorset Council UK because he has transformed Dorset’s approach to highway maintenance, whilst also being an ambassador for highways asset management both regionally and nationally; through forward thinking, collaboration, innovation, knowledge sharing/skill building, strategic development and stakeholder engagement. Unfortunately, Mike wasn't able to be with us tonight, so the award was collected on his behalf. Congratulations to Mike and thank you to Rob C. for presenting this award. #StrictlyHighways Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom Hansford Michael

Celebrating Topping Out at Lisbon Street! 🏗️ We are excited to announce the topping out of Threadworks, a 24-storey Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) project at Lisbon Street, Leeds! This milestone was celebrated with our client CA Ventures and Novel Student on the top floor. Once complete, the development, located at the corner of Lisbon Street and Castle Street, will deliver 548 en-suite bedrooms. Construction continues with final decorations completed on the lower floors and partitions underway on level 17. We are also proud to be piloting a carbon-reducing innovation associated with hot works, by using electric boilers for roofing activities, showcasing our commitment to sustainable building practices. A huge well done to the project team and everyone involved in this project. 👏 📰 Read more in the Press Release: https://bit.ly/4gN9SsC #MultiRoom #PBSA #ToppingOut #MultiRoomMilestone #Sustainability Mark Jones, Dave Markie, Ben Fairbrother, James Stembridge, Pete Parkinson, Dean O'Brien, Leon Patel, Abigail Norcliffe, Kelsie Blackie, Isaac Barker, Jeff Scully, Paul Symons, Michelle Singleton (Swain), Sinéad Joyce MRICS MRTPI, George Salisbury Bsc (Hons) MRICS, Gina McMorran, Ed Portsmouth, Rob Try MRICS, Sarah Kemp, Joseph Crabtree

It’s been a year since the Roade bypass in Northampton opened to the public, part of the SEGRO plc Logistics Park Northampton (SLPN) project. To mark this milestone, we sat down with Scott Martin, Winvic's Project Director behind the scheme, who has recently been promoted to Contracts Director in our Civils & Infrastructure team! Scott reflects on his career in highways and bridges, which began as a Civil Engineering Apprentice 30 years ago. To working on our SLPN project and the sustainable practices. 🏗️ Now, as Contracts Director, Scott is excited to grow Winvic’s Civils and Infrastructure sector, overseeing frameworks such as those with Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) and National Highways. He is looking forward to furthering Winvic’s collaborative approach and upholding the company’s core values as he takes on new responsibilities, targeting new business, and developing people across the sector. 📰 Read the blog to see more about Scott's career and all about our SLPN project: https://bit.ly/4eH4QMi #Civils #Infrastructure #Highways #Construction Rob C.
