It’s great to see teams from all around the world visiting our distilleries. They are the places that make our whisky flow and the best way to experience the legacy of the Company firsthand. Oliviah from our Nigeria team writes about a trip she hosted with some of our business partners.
A time like this a year ago, I got the opportunity to play host to our partners at our distillery in Scotland. William Grant & Sons is a company that has maintained its dedication to producing the finest drams - not just in the valleys of Speyside - but the world over. Family is important to us. It is a concept central to the identity and ethos of William Grant & Sons, but not in the way that limits itself to bloodlines, but rather extends to those who share. Therefore, in this family of travelers to Scotland was an eclectic mix of mavericks, dram lovers, curious beginners and active stakeholders in the whisky business. The better part of the week was spent in Speyside. The cradle of single malt whisky, and specifically the home of Glenfiddich Distillery for the past 138 years. It sits in between the Conval Hills; from a far it looks like a mosaic garden with patches of barley and green fields. Depending on the time you arrive, stags roam freely, and you can see why this was the inspiration behind Glenfiddich’s identity. The penultimate treat being a dinner at the distillery, where everyone was dressed in traditional Scottish regalia and a serving of venison and Haggis. Somewhere in the night a bagpipe was played, a poem recited, glasses were raised, toasts were shared, and faces lit up in a way they only can in a moment of celebration between family and friends alike. #Glenfiddich #SingleMalt #Whisky #Speyside
