About us
Whitings LLP are a firm of general practice chartered accountants, the partners of which are predominantly members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Strong and consolidated growth now sees a practice with 14 partners and around 150 staff, based in 10 East Anglian market towns. Traditional accountancy and tax return compliance work has now been expanded to include many specialisms and niche services. We believe passionately that the success of, both, our clients and of Whitings LLP is linked to the quality of the relationship between our partners and our clients. Our partner led service pro-actively advises our clients in the manner that they would wish to be advised themselves. We offer a truly personalised service to fit each client's unique requirements. As well as assisting you with your accounting and tax compliance responsibilities, we will identify and advise you on the 'key issues' as we see them. Although we act for numerous large businesses and various specialist organisations, our focus has traditionally been SME owner managed businesses and the individuals behind them. We therefore intimately understand how such businesses work, what their aspirations are and how they require our help with taking away the worry of compliance matters and in minimising their tax payments. Although we act for clients all over the world, we are firmly established as part of the business fabric within the heartland of East Anglia.

We have a corker of a Friday post for you today! Two words... DOG DAY! 🐶 Our Mildenhall Office had their Dog Day yesterday and we must say that there was a lot of slacking from our canine co-workers! 😮 1. We start with Peanut who had a slow start to the day... 😴 2. We had to send Otto to #HR to have a chat about how it is not acceptable to be sleeping on the job! 💤 3. Stella was also found on a 'break' which lasted most of the day... she didn't pass probation 🛌 4. Peanut was channelling #Friday vibes early yesterday, making it known to everyone that she was done and Stella was a close 2nd in the queue to clock out for the day! 😎 5. The star of the show was the outstanding Ozzy 🏆✨ Ozzy dressed smart for a day at work, he understood the assignment and absolutely smashed the day. If you see your paperwork signed with a paw print... you know that it was the trusty Ozzy who signed it off for you 🐾 #WhitingsLLP #Accountants #Mildenhall #Team #EastAnglia #Dogs #pets

Members of our Ely Team dusted off their rusty netball skills on Sunday 13th October to take part in the Richard Marley Memorial Netball Tournament. The tournament, organised by Becky Marley and her family, raised over £2,000 for The Malcolm Whales Foundation and is a great example of a community coming together to raise funds for a wonderful Foundation 👏 The Ely Team played 8 games in total and even managed to enthusiastically win several games! Roll on next years tournament! 🏆 #Fundraising #Community #Ely #Teamwork #Cambridgeshire

On Friday evening we hosted the 13th Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards, bringing to a close this year's West Suffolk Business Festival. It was a wonderful evening at The Apex, hosted once again by ITV News Anglia's Becky Jago. There were speeches before dinner from Ricky Allan, Jaynic, Indy Wijenayaka, Peter Prinsley MP and, our charity partner, Jon Neal from Suffolk Mind. Suffolk Mind provides a range of mental wellbeing support and services across the county, and it was wonderful to work with Jon and Gina Saunders for the first time, and delighted to report that due to the generosity of our guests we raised £2,222 on the evening. More can be read at https://lnkd.in/eh2t3bfD Many congratulations to all of our winners, highly commended and finalist - there were so many amazing entries this year, and this was one of the strongest shortlist we have ever had. Particular congratulations to Daemmon Reeve for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award - we are sorry you could not be with us, but thank you for the wonderful acceptance speech and it was lovely that Chloe Ludkin CMgr MCMI could collect the trophy on your behalf from Nic Rumsey. 📢 Do you sell on Amazon? If so, you're going to want to read this... Amazon has recently announced changes in the VAT treatment of fees that will significantly impact UK sellers. Previously, UK VAT-registered sellers only paid VAT on UK advertising fees which were billed from London. All other fees were billed from Luxembourg and generally fell under the Reverse Charge Mechanism. So what's changed? 🤔 Since 1 August 2024, Amazon have been billing UK VAT-registered sellers for fees from inside the UK. Therefore UK sellers are now charged VAT and will need to claim back this VAT on their VAT return going forward. Discover what fees are impacted and the new VAT rates in our blog post here: 💻 https://ow.ly/N12O50TEn58 Contact your local Whitings LLP office today for more advice or information on this topic. #WhitingsLLP #Accountants #Amazon #VAT #SellingOnAmazon
