Well that was fun! Our Matt joined Dr. Eleanor Janega to talk about the history of spirits, and whisky in particular, on the Gone Medieval podcast. Learn how we got from desalination in ancient times to the industry we know today >> https://lnkd.in/easc69nG

Everything from whisky blogging and writing to brand consultation, talks and education. There is a whisky for everyone!
About us
Whisky For Everyone is a blog and website that I started in conjunction with my wife. When we created the blog we were both at the whisky beginners stage. We were wanting to learn more about the world of whisky and were unable, at that time, to find a suitable site or blog that we felt described whisky to a beginner or someone with a keen interest; rather most seemed aimed at the whisky connoisseur. That is when we decided to write such a blog ourselves, helping others learn as we were learning, and Whisky For Everyone was born. Within the blog we write reviews and tasting notes of new and existing whiskies, including background history on the distillery or brand and information on the bottling so as to put the featured whisky in to context. Other features include a weekly news round up named Inbox, reviews of distillery visits, articles explaining about whisky basics and occasional interviews with industry workers. The format and writing style has proved very successful, not just with our original beginner audience but the whisky connoisseur too. Both our profile within the industry, and reader numbers and comments have grown significantly - we have over 16,500 followers on Twitter, over 2,500 on Facebook and over 1,500 on Instagram. The early success of the blog led to the creation of the website, which includes much of the above but in more depth than can be practically covered in a blog post. I primarily research and write the content for both blog and website, deal with site generated admin and correspondence, as well as running all social media channels.

We love this map! It is amazing that there are now 55 distilleries making whisky in England. From Ad Gefrin in the far north of Northumberland to Pocketful of Stones down in Penzance, Cornwall there is so much diversity. It is also great to see the English Whisky Guild formed in 2022 with 15 founding members to support the ever-growing community, build awareness and define standards. There is great work going on across the board. We would’ve been laughed at if we had said there would be 50+ English whisky distilleries by 2024 when we started our blog 16 years ago. Thanks to Cooper King Distillery for producing this great map, now on its 6th edition. #englishwhisky #englishwhiskyguild #englishwhiskymap

The Malt Whisky Yearbook 2024 is out and we are proud and delighted to be featured again in the website section - that’s the 15th straight year after first appearing in the 2010 edition. Thank you Ingvar. We do not take this achievement lightly especially in times when we are often seen as ‘old school’ and with so many other great whisky blogs, websites, YouTube channels and Insta influencers out there. #maltwhiskyyearbook #whiskybook #whiskyblog #whiskyblogger #ingvarronde
