What a fantastic event! Thank you to team who put this together, amazing to see so many passionate people.
What a fabulous day today at the event hosted at St Basils head office. Around 40 young people who reside in St Basil's supported accommodation attended this mini event which in partnership with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) was arranged to promote the Rent Simplification Support, which aims to incentivise employment by removing the complicated Housing Benefit tapering system. The young people were given information about the initiative and introduced to a number of organisations that can support them into employment. 36 young people signed up to the offers from NHS, Release Potential, National Careers Service, Creative Alliance and MyBnk with 7 of them enrolling onto a construction course with The Skills Centre which starts tomorrow! Thank you to Kash Munroe and her team for arranging the event, encouraging the young people to attend and providing the food 🤩. Thank you to Kate R for inviting the organisations and helping plan the event. It was great to see colleagues from DWP Policy attend, along with Mark Whitehouse and Thea Raisbeck and always a pleasure to see Jean Templeton.
