In October 1944 the town of s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands was liberated by the 53rd Welsh Infantry Division🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇳🇱 This weekend, our Deputy First Minister will join a Welsh delegation as ‘Den Bosch’ marks the 80th anniversary of this milestone. Today, alongside the UK Government, we have launched an Independent Commission into the water sector, in what is expected to form the largest review of the industry since privatisation. Today we mark 58 years since the Aberfan disaster - one of the bleakest days in our history. We will never forget those who lost their lives, most of them children. The strength shown by the community who faced the unimaginable continues to be a shining example to us all. Heddiw rydym yn nodi 58 mlynedd ers trychineb Aberfan - un o'r dyddiau mwyaf llwm yn ein hanes. Ni fyddwn byth yn anghofio'r rhai a gollodd eu bywydau, y rhan fwyaf ohonynt yn blant. Mae'r cryfder a ddangoswyd gan y gymuned yn parhau i fod yn esiampl ddisglair i ni i gyd.
