The tech industry is evolving, and women are leading the way in creating a more diverse, inclusive space. In a recent SheCanCode webinar hosted by Kayleigh Bateman, women in tech came together to discuss how we can "lift as we climb" and support one another in breaking down barriers. Key takeaways: - Championing other women in tech is crucial—through mentorship, collaboration, and advocacy. - Believe in your unique perspective and skills, and don’t be afraid to apply for roles, even if you don’t meet every requirement. - The old ‘queen bee’ mentality is fading, and we’re seeing a shift toward empowering and uplifting one another. Speakers Frankie Oakeshott Natalie Whittlesey, Sam Gaskell, and Hazel Elms shared their journeys and insights on building inclusive workplaces, addressing imposter syndrome, and supporting fellow women in tech. Thinking about a career in tech but feeling hesitant? Now is the time to step up! As Natalie Whittlesey said, “Believe in people that believe in you.” Catch the full webinar for even more inspiration and practical advice. Let’s continue to support each other and make the tech industry a place for ALL to thrive! #WomenInTech #SheCanCode #DiversityInTech #LiftAsYouClimb #TechForAll #WomenEmpowerment https://lnkd.in/e3AFdh6i

We are organising a run so we can all come together and remember our dear colleague, Richard Skipper. Challenge yourself to run (or walk) a 5km, 10km or half marathon. Everyone is welcome, family, friends, colleagues new and old, acquaintances – if Rich had time for you (and he had time for everyone), you are on the invite list! We will be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Sadly, more than half of the people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within three months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. ***Please contact [email protected] if you would like to get involved*** Or if you can't make it but want to donate then you can do so here https://lnkd.in/e4z7PTF3
In June this year, we lost someone incredibly special, our beloved Richard Skipper. After a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Skip passed away on June 14th. The outpouring of love and admiration for him has, unsurprisingly, been vast. He really was one of a kind. However, he would not want us to mope, so we are channelling this energy into something that he would love. Rich loved being around people, he loved to run, and he also wanted to give back. So, we are organizing "Run for Rich" to do all three of those things, where we can all come together and take great joy in having had him in our lives for the period we did. Everyone is welcome: family, friends, colleagues new and old, acquaintances – if Rich had time for you (and he had time for everyone), you are on the invite list! You can choose your distance - 5km/10km/half marathon. We will be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Sadly, more than half of the people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within three months.
