  • One day left to apply for this incredibly exciting and interesting role - well at least we think it is! Come and be part of a dynamic collective making education inclusive, accessible and meaningful for all.

Inclusive Education Collective Lead - We are now hiring. https://lnkd.in/ecUg-rRT We recognise a momentum is building, networks are emerging and there is a renewed appetite for change regarding inclusive education practice, addressing exclusions and ensuring all children and young people have the opportunity to enjoy a full and positive education. However, the sector remains siloed in its conversations and sharing of learning and experience. We are looking for a dynamic Collective Lead to strengthen this voice by building communities of practice across the education sector and connecting existing (cross sector) networks. Applications by letter of application and cv to [email protected] by 9am on Wednesday 4th September. Interviews will be held, virtually, on Weds 11th, Friday 13th and Tuesday 17th of September.

  • Wonderful to see this work being shared. Nature connection is incredibly powerful in our everyday lives and in supporting change - and yet - it is something we rarely think about and can name.

Can nature inspire climate action? 🌿 Here are five things we’ve learnt about the relationship between access to nature and the desire to look after it.  We explored this in a research partnership with Wates Family Enterprise Trust and Chrysalis that included:  🌿 182 participants   🌿 19 community nature projects  🌿 activities ranging from seed sowing to veg pickling to tree grafting What were the results? Swipe through to see.  Despite the endless benefits that come from spending time in nature, a third of us in the UK spend less than an hour a week in green space. We’re on a mission to bring nature closer to people, and people closer to nature – with an exciting announcement coming soon!  #AccessToNature #GreenSpace #ClimateResearch #SustainabilityResearch

CEO at Hubbub, inspiring action that’s good for the environment and for everyone

🌻🌱 Introducing the Community Fridge Network’s younger, greener sibling: The Community Nature Network! 🌻🌱 What is it?  It’s a bit like our Community Fridge Network, but for community nature projects. A brand-new nationwide collective, coordinated by Hubbub, which offers learning resources and funding opportunities, and enables groups to share knowledge and support with each other. 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄.  The Community Nature Network aims to:  ➡️Increase access and connection to nature with new or improved green spaces ➡️Channel funding into community-led green spaces ➡️Show that getting outdoors is for everyone – not just those who already seek it out ➡️Champion nature as a powerful hook to inspire planet-friendly habits Why is it important?  We know how important nature is for our physical and mental wellbeing and that spending time in it can be a powerful motivator to inspire climate action. Yet a third of us in the UK spend less than an hour a week in green space. 🪴 Want to dig in? Check out the Network at https://lnkd.in/dq3PZYym. 🌳 Interested in supporting community-based nature projects? Get in touch. We've built the network thanks to the support of Bentley Environmental Foundation and Wates Family Enterprise Trust and now we're actively seeking partners to support its growth. ++ P.S. I'm CEO of environmental charity Hubbub. We bring business, government and civil society together to create campaigns that inspire & support people to make choices that are good for the environment. Congratulations The Rt Hon Keir Starmer and The Labour Party on winning the General Election. We look forward to working together to tackle inequality in education and make education fair for every child and young person, regardless of their socioeconomic background. https://lnkd.in/gnXkRMDk    On election night we were delighted to hear Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, promise to “tear down the barriers to opportunity which hold back too many of our children”.     Today we’re launching Fair Education in 2024: Priorities for a New Government – providing the new Government with policies that prioritise, above all else, tackling inequality. We also look at fresh ideas already being implemented by some of our coalition of 300 members, and invite the Government to work with us all to develop and implement solutions together.     Please join us in sharing this as widely as possible, as we speak with one unified voice – fair education is achievable! https://lnkd.in/gnXkRMDk #FairEdForAll

What a wonderful way to start the week! This week we welcomed those receiving funding from the Wates Family Enterprise Trust under our 'Thinking Differently' awards scheme alongside members of Wates Group Social Value Team who offer further support to each organisation. The award scheme focuses on supporting strategic change in an orgainsation at a critical point in their development, delivery or growth. This is a three way relationship - charity/WFET/Wates Group - which we have been piloting for the past three years. This week we all met to review what has worked well, what we have learnt, achieved and how the fund and support could improve. Thank you Jamie Earl, Christina Byrne (She/Her), Sid Williams, Construction Youth Trust, Cook for Good, Nicole Ash (née Barnes), Jamie Clancy-Toomey , Jennifer Oatley, Felicity Mallam And huge thanks to Cook for Good for hosting us in your wonderful space and with the most delicious food!! We look forward to the next iteration of Thinking Differently grants later this year.
