Do you or your team have to deal with Subject Access Requests? And if you do, do you know what's going on in your workplace WhatsApp groups? Teams chats, Slack channels or Messenger messages? Register for our free webinar on 23rd October 9.30-10.30 where we'll be tackling this topic. I'll be in conversation with Matt Spall and Pippa Scotcher, Data Protection experts at The DPO Centre Ltd to talk about the impact of social media communications on DSARS. We use these social channels to engage our teams, but the social nature of these communication methods means employees may include content that wouldn't in more formal communications. We’ll be talking about how the explosion in workplace social communication channels has impacted DSARs, and how HR teams can support their organisation to more effectively manage the content on these platforms. This is also a great webinar for your Internal Comms colleagues to join in on too, so do share the link and register your place! https://lnkd.in/eu9dj8YC #DSARs #DataProtection #EmployeeEngagement #InternalCommunication

From this month the Worker Protection Act will introduce a new legal duty on UK employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. So how can employers genuinely understand their current potential risk? And, just as importantly, how can employees be supported through positive engagement rather than workshops with the 'feel-bad factor' of telling people how not to behave? This is where the joined up support from Prettys and Waddington Brown comes into its own, with three simple stages of help: 1. We investigate the current risks and challenges in your organisation, with the outcomes of this shared by Matthew Cole with your leadership team. 2. Using that data, we help your leaders decide the actions that are going to have the most beneficial effect in your workplace. 3. We support in the delivery of those actions, as much or as little as needed. This could include employee communications, positive action workshops, building line manager confidence, policy structure and more. Every organisation's challenges are unique, which is why, although we use a three-stage structure, the specific actions are tailored to exactly what you need. If you are ready to tackle this subject for the benefit of everyone in your workplace, get in touch. #Unwelcomeattention #WorkplaceEquality #SexualHarassmentPrevention #CultureShift #ESG #InclusiveWorkplaces #HRSupport
Unwelcome Attention: Removing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace for Good Prettys, in partnership with Waddington Brown Ltd - HR Recruitment & Consultancy, is committed to helping organisations stamp out sexual harassment and workplace inequality – for good. From October 2024, the Worker Protection Act will introduce a new legal duty on UK employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. But shouldn’t we aim higher than compliance alone? Matthew Cole, Partner at Prettys and lead for the ‘Unwelcome Attention’ campaign, says: “A new approach is needed, which combines a deep understanding of the issues, together with a desire to help organisations make a measurable improvement. We all want to work in a safe and respectful workplace. The introduction of ESG programmes is helping but most organisations will admit to being far from where they want to be.” Prettys and Waddington Brown have created a bespoke process to help organisations build safe, inclusive environments through tailored support. Want to know more? You can read the full article here https://lnkd.in/exuJWqKQ You can reach out to Matthew Cole ([email protected]) or Nina Metson ([email protected]) for details on how we can help your organisation tackle this important issue. #Unwelcomeattention #WorkplaceEquality #SexualHarassmentPrevention #CultureShift #ESG #InclusiveWorkplaces #HRSupport #PrettysSolicitors #WaddingtonBrown

Our favourite event of the year, with a great audience and inspiring speakers. We’re already planning for 2025!
MD of Waddington Brown HR Recruitment & Consultancy [email protected] Helping HR professionals in the East of England build brilliant careers, teams and workplaces.
Three wonderful speakers, over 60 HR leaders, and a golden thread of connecting empathy with purpose to create great places to work - what an inspiring morning at our annual HR Leaders of East Anglia conference! Thank you to everyone from across the HR community and beyond who joined us at Trinity Park, and particular thanks to our speakers. Sarah Hancock shared the people and culture strategy that lies at the heart of the mammoth Sizewell C nuclear construction project. Clare Wright showed how connecting cultural shifts to commercial plans makes HR an essential strategic partner in a business - through transformation and beyond. And Sarah West took us on a journey across the waves from her time leading Naval warships to now leading Harwich Haven Authority - and how staying true to yourself might sometimes be tough, but not as tough as giving up your identity for the benefit of others. Plus Matthew Cole from Prettys spoke about the work we are doing together to support business in the imminent change to sexual harassment legislation - much more on that in a separate post! Thank you to the Waddington Brown team of Eithne Sanders and Rosie Barrack for ensuring the whole day ran so smoothly. And as I said to everyone in the audience yesterday; when you are looking at your to do list, your people or your recruitment… call me! #HRLeadership #HRDirector #HRManager

Our third HR HeadsTogether networking event of the year and what a lively conversation it was! The Prettys employment law team have been brilliant at putting these events together for HR Leaders, and yesterday we were at Colchester Rugby Club debating the pros and cons of Labour's employment law proposals. Bringing together the wide-ranging HR experiences and knowledge around the room, we talked risks and opportunities, resources, manager development, costs, culture - and plenty of support for what will be another period of change and uncertainty that HR will be helping organisations to navigate. We have one more HR HeadsTogether event this year, in December at Fynn Valley Golf Club in Ipswich. If you are HR Leader in the local area and would like to make sure you receive booking information, please do drop us a note. #HRHeadsTogether #HRNetwork #EmploymentLaw
