Network of heritage volunteer organisers in Scotland who provide peer-to-peer support and promote inclusive volunteering
About us
The Volunteer Organisers Network is part of the Make Your Mark in Volunteering Campaign. Our role is to provide peer-to-peer support to anyone who works with volunteers, with a focus on ensuring that volunteers contributing to the heritage sector represent the diversity of Scotland’s population. We support volunteer organisers by: - Organising a programme of network events, including short talks about case studies, Q&As and volunteer management training. - Curating a regular newsletter with good practice and new ideas of inclusive volunteer management – join Make Your Mark to subscribe! - Promoting the Make Your Mark values of Place, Community, Heritage and Inclusivity The Make Your Mark in Volunteering campaign aims to increase the number and diversity of heritage volunteers in Scotland. It is overseen by a working group of 18 major stakeholders in Scotland's voluntary and heritage sectors: - Volunteer Scotland - Historic Environment Scotland - AMINA Muslim Women's Resource Centre - Archaeology Scotland - Glasgow Disability Alliance - Heritage Trust Network - Jambo! Radio - Museums Galleries Scotland - National Galleries of Scotland - National Mining Museum Scotland - NatureScot - Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Scotland - Royal Zoological Society of Scotland - Scottish Civic Trust - Scottish Council on Archives - Scottish Refugee Council - Society of Antiquaries of Scotland - The National Trust for Scotland
