Today we are launching our new London DEI Plan 24/25 for Virgo Health and Golin. It’s been months in the works, with many people across the agency inputting and contributing to help us create a reflection of what we have heard, what we have learnt, what we have achieved, as well as what we will focus on for the future. Transparently tracking and sharing our progress on inclusion and representation is a critical part of this. We are sharing the first cut of our representation data collected from our new voluntary disclosure system, Self ID, alongside the results from our inclusion survey BELONG. While our BELONG data gives us lots to be positive about and demonstrates the impact of the last two year’s focus on DEI, we are still in the process of building our new Self-ID data to understand our representation across nine diversity dimensions. Unfortunately, this means we lack full enough data to run a meaningful EPG report this year and participate in this week’s PRWeek Pay Gap Report. As soon as we have more complete data we will report our EPG and other pay reports annually and set stretch targets for under-represented talent. View our London DEI Plan 24/25 here - https://lnkd.in/e3H9EXiC And a huge thank you to our brilliant cover artist, Baraka Carberry, AKA @Bokiba, a Midlands-based British Guyanese artist. We worked closely with Baraka to convey the joy we know diversity and inclusion can bring. We hope you agree she did an incredible job.

Proud to bring our healthcare expertise to this brilliant new ASICS campaign with Brian Cox, inspiring desk-bound officer workers to get up move for their mind 👇

“Run, jump, roller-skate. Whatever, I don’t care. JUST MOVE, FOR YOUR MIND.” Introducing #DeskBreak by ASICS, because spending hours at our desks can be a danger to our mental health. ASICS recruited the world’s scariest boss, Brian Cox, to deliver an unmissable public service announcement to desk workers. This is because our Global research shows our mental state starts to decline after only two hours of continuous desk-based working and stress levels rise significantly after four hours. BUT, working with Dr Brendon Stubbs to deliver our Desk Break Experiment, we showed a simple 15-minute movement break can help reverse the effects. It's time to make this part of working life. So… Don’t just sit there. Take a Desk Break to move your mind. #SoundMindSoundBody #DeskBreak #MoveYourMindwithASICS Proud to work with ASICS and this amazing team Caroline Fisher Gary Raucher Esther Turkenburg Fiona Berwick Gemma Combellack Hannah Giles Vicky Plato Lydia Goldman Sam Mildner Migle Kriauciunaite Jessie Brooks Elliot Riordan Alex Wood Amy Paton Ellie W. 🔥 🔥 🔥 Golin London Virgo Health

Last night at London HQ we hosted Justin Webb, BBC Radio 4 Today and Americast presenter, who shared his extraordinary insight on being at the forefront of the BBC's US election coverage and his perspective on the US elections and their future implications. Covering everything from Kamala's late entry to the power of Trump's appeal. Why the Hispanic population could swing the vote, the unchartered waters of TikTok influence and whether Swifties could really make a difference at the polls.   Justin was the BBC’s North America Editor when Obama was elected and was the first Ex US journalist to interview Obama, with this election being another pivotal moment in US history and Justin leading the BBC's coverage, we were so excited he could join us. Huge thank you to Justin Webb and all who attended.

Time to nip it in the butt? Bit of a damp squid? You may have spotted famous wordsmith Gyles Brandreth on Instagram or This Morning this week saying a few commonly misheard sayings. That's because Specsavers have teamed up with Gyles to launch the next step of our misheard campaign, The Misheard Manifesto, correcting the nation's mishearing of well-known sayings 👂👂 As new research reveals friends and family are just too polite to tell each other they are wrong, Gyles, who has revealed he has hearing loss, is helping us call on the nation to finally banish ‘wriggle room’, ‘escape goat’, ‘damp squid’, ‘nip in the butt’, and other incorrect phrases. How do you get families to focus on children's eye health this summer? Bring some eye test fun to summer holiday days out...

View profile for Beth Whitworth, graphic

Director - Virgo Health and Golin

Our research showed 1 in 4 kids have never had an eye test. So how do you put children’s eye health on parents’ radars? Create something unmissable that both parents and children can’t ignore. Introducing Specsavers' Eye Screen Van. Popping up on London’s South Bank and The Royal Botanical Garden in Edinburgh, the van was equipped with ice lollies and visual screeners to help identify any potential eyesight problems in children and prompt parents to book an eye test. It’s taken a good few months to plan and deliver this campaign for Specsavers but all worth it when the coverage starts coming through and is packed with photos from the events plus our video. Thank you to our brilliant clients for letting us have a bit of fun with this one, while of course still delivering an important message, and the team who pulled it off. Check out Grant Alison's insights into working in the healthcare communications sector and what his role as an Account Director at Virgo Health involves! ➡ What area of Healthcare communications do you work in? I’m part of the pharma comms team at Virgo Health, currently working across two accounts with a corporate comms focus. ➡ What types of projects do you work on? Typical projects include media relations and press office, social media strategy and channel management, executive visibility, corporate events, content development and anything else that comes our way! ➡ What does a typical day at work look like? As much as I'd love to avoid a cliché, there isn't a typical day at work. That said, some of my daily responsibilities include reviewing materials – social media calendars, thought leadership articles, and metrics reports; preparing communications plans and media strategies, such as for an upcoming corporate announcement; as well as ongoing client liaison and generally ensuring my teams have everything they need to deliver for our clients. Other key responsibilities include preparing client budgets, supporting on new/organic business proposals, managing account finances, inputting into resourcing and always keeping our finance team in the loop. ➡ What has been the highlight of your career in Healthcare Communications? One standout would be my first-ever promotion. Early in my career, I always had a fear that I wasn’t ‘cut out’ for the job and lacked a lot of confidence. Being promoted gave me a much-needed boost and helped me realise that healthcare comms was the industry for me. ➡ What advice would you give someone looking to start their career in Healthcare Communications? Firstly, be a sponge for information and ask lots of questions. There’s a lot to take in and no one will expect you to be an expert. I would also say that healthcare comms is a team sport – you aren’t alone and you should always lean on those around you.
