On Saturday our team at Vintage Bentley hosted a Summer Open Day, welcoming guests throughout the day for tours, team interaction and refreshments surrounded by historic W.O Bentleys. Over 60 guests enjoy dedicated tours of The Works whilst others enjoyed witnessing our craftsmanship at their own leisure. Thanks to everyone's generous donations we raised over £2,000 for our partnered charity of the year Alzheimer's Society, a charity voted for by our own team. 🙏 The open day was a great opportunity for our team to share their passion and showcase their skills whilst working collaboratively in a change of environment. On Sunday the Vintage Bentley team witnessed the 1928 4 ½ Litre Bentley win HERO-ERA's epic Peking to Paris 2024.   Completing 14,500km across 9 countries, the Bentley took the win after a tough fought battle spanning the 37 days of racing across the world. From the sandy tracks of the Gobi Desert to the Lilo Arena Rally Cross circuit of Tbilisi, the Bentley took it in her stride. Huge congratulations to driver Andy and navigator Mike who showed the world exactly what W.Os do best. Over the last 10 days the team at Vintage Bentley have been involved in the centenary celebrations for the very first Bentley to win at Le Mans. The 1924 Le Mans winning Bentley departed Brooklands Museum, just as John Duff did 100 years ago, to embark on her return journey for this year's 24Hours of Le Mans. Driven by our founder William Medcalf and supported by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the Bentley was greeted by cheering groups of enthusiasts along the 600km journey. Powered by 100% fossil-free synthetic fuel, marked another milestone in our ongoing partnership with P1 FUELS, using the past to write the future. The 3 Litre Bentley Sport was a spectacle in the Le Mans procession as crowds lined the 2km route to see her amongst the nine Hypercars, one LMP2 and seven LMGT3s in what has become a main feature of the race build up. Driven by William and carrying the chequered flag, the 1924 Le Mans winning car was greeted by waves, cheers, and smiles from the waiting crowds. She then took up residence in the Musée des 24 Heures du Mans prior to participating in the Grande Parade Des Pilotes in Le Mans city centre, ahead of the weekend's racing. The winning Bentley was on the starting grid as part of the opening ceremony marking the culmination of her centenary celebrations at Le Mans. This has been a extraordinary series of events and we would like to thank all those who have supported, joined in the celebrations and followed this remarkable journey. On Friday our team at Vintage Bentley hosted the 4th VB Generations Track Day at The Goodwood Group Motor Circuit. The concept behind the event is to inspire the next generation by sharing passion and skill to sustain pre-war Bentleys for years to come. It was amazing to see so much enjoyment throughout the day with such a diverse group of guests, backgrounds and experiences. In addition to this we continued our sustainability journey to ensure it was a nature positive event where possible, including the use of P1 FUELS as we continue to work together, using the past to write the future. Last week our team at Vintage Bentley launched The Ultimate Collection at Salon Privé London. This collection has been carefully curated to represent the significance of Bentley’s pre-war history. Years in the making, The Ultimate Collection presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire five of the most historically significant vintage Bentleys in one sale. Through rain or shine it was great to meet so many people who attended the event over the three days at Royal Hospital Chelsea. Whilst we were proud to launch this collection we were also delighted for our 1930 Speed Six Saloon to be awarded Best in Class 3 and Le Prix D’Hounner.
