Senior Research Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University

We are conducting ground-breaking research and seeking participants. Anglia Ruskin University and Swansea University are conducting the Veterans’ HABIT study into gambling harm in the UK veteran population. We are now at the second phase of the study and considering the effects of veteran’s gambling on their families, friends and personal relationships. We would like to speak to people who have been impacted by harmful gambling of a family member, friend or someone they have a personal relationship with who is a UK veteran. If you feel this applies to you and would take part in an online research interview with one of our staff for around 30 minutes to an hour, please visit https://lnkd.in/esPPNBHb for more details and to register your interest.

Passionate about creating a workplace where every voice is heard, valued, and empowered—fostering inclusion and elevating the employee experience for all.

Today marks 25 years since the lifting of the ban on LGB personnel serving in the armed forces—a pivotal moment in history that changed countless lives, including my own 😊 As a proud gay woman who served 22 years in the RAF as an aircraft mechanic, I reflect on this milestone with gratitude, pride, and a deep sense of purpose. It’s a reminder of the progress we’ve made and the courage of those who fought for inclusion. But this anniversary is also a moment to acknowledge the challenges that remain. While much has improved, the journey toward true equality is ongoing. Today, I think of those who came before us, serving in silence, and those currently striving for a more inclusive future. To my fellow veterans and those still serving: your resilience and dedication continue to inspire. To the next generation: may your path be brighter because of the steps we’ve taken together. Here’s to honoring the past, navigating the present, and building a future where everyone can serve authentically and proudly🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
