Yet another safeguarding incident involving technical surveillance. Do you know that most UK educational facilities do not even have a risk assessment that covers the risk and mitigations associated with covert technical surveillance? No risk assessment, means lack of awareness of the threat or does it mean that UK educational institutions think they are immune and dismiss the threat? #safeguarding #privacy #safety #schools #colleges #universities https://lnkd.in/d8XHEeY9

The staff member who placed the device has already been sentenced, now the victim is holding the employer responsible too. Do you know how to ensure adequate TSCM surveys are conducted in your organisation? Do you have a risk assessment in place to cover this identified risk to the privacy and wellbeing of your staff and customers? If detected, do you have a process to deal with the device which will preserve the chain of evidence for legal investigators? Verrimus provide TSCM Awareness and Procurement training to organisations who wish to ensure that they are mitigating adequately the threat of technical surveillance. #TSCM #training #privacy #safety #safeguarding #riskmanagement https://lnkd.in/e3hP-ZZk

Espionage News "According to a warning issued during a parliamentary hearing on October 9, Russia could be capable of launching an attack on NATO by 2030. The comments came from Bruno Kahl, head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), who stated that a military clash with the alliance is “becoming an option for Russia.” These remarks, though jarring, offer important insight into the mindset of Western intelligence agencies as they evaluate the shifting security landscape in Europe." #tscm #espionage #safety #security #privacy #military #germany #nato #russia https://lnkd.in/gJ8T2jZh

Espionage News "The heightened security specifically targets Defense personnel, particularly those responsible for guarding the affected barracks. While no specific details about the new security measures have been disclosed, the adjustments reflect the increased threat environment. The enhanced protocols currently apply to a limited number of military installations, which had reportedly received concrete threats. These measures were implemented as of yesterday and will remain in place indefinitely. Similar Incidents in Germany This development follows similar actions taken in Germany earlier this year, where heightened security was introduced at various military bases due to concerns over sabotage. In August, the NATO Air Base in Geilenkirchen, near the borders of the Netherlands and Belgium, saw an increase in security measures due to a "potential threat." Additionally, a week earlier, a major German airbase near Cologne was temporarily locked down after concerns arose over possible water supply tampering. A soldier discovered a breach in the fence surrounding the base's drinking water facility, and abnormal readings were detected in the water. Similar security precautions were also implemented at another German NATO base for related reasons." #tscm #safety #military #security #espionage #sabotage #belgium #germany #russia #ukraine #privacy https://lnkd.in/eDtbPJQE
