📢 Autumn Budget Insights on Business Rates Adam Barnfield recently represented Vail Williams, addressing the Autumn Budget’s impact on Business Rates. With the reduction in Retail Relief for FY25/26, many businesses may feel the strain. The proposed lower/higher multiplier (beginning in 2026) would have offered some relief had it been introduced sooner. At Vail Williams, we're committed to helping businesses manage and mitigate the impact of Business Rates. If you’re concerned about your rates liability and feel a review could be beneficial, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Business Rates team. We're here to help! For perspectives from Adam and others on the budget, take a look at the article below: https://lnkd.in/ei_V3cEt

💡Blog: NPPF reform and the unintended consequences on housing supply At the Budget yesterday Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, emphasised the importance of getting Britain building again by taking a more growth-focused approach - from amending the planning framework and implementing universal, ambitious local plan coverage, to committing to build 1.5 million new homes. The vast majority of planners (96%) are in agreement that change to strategic planning is needed across the private and public sectors if the Government is to deliver on its ambitious target to deliver 1.5 million new homes (Royal Town Planning Institute survey). On the back of yesterday's Budget announcements, and following on from the closing of the consultation on National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) reform, we explore what is proposed and what the potential effects on national housing supply might be. 🏗️Surrey industrial update: Build it or invest in it, and they will come As we move through 2024, we have seen a good level of industrial activity in Surrey. There has been a transition towards more quality premises, with the delivery of some much-needed Grade A industrial and logistics stock to meet occupier needs. However, with the flight to quality continuing, we must see more high-quality supply as Surrey industrial expert, partner Maria Hoadley, explains in this update which explores: ✅ The benefits of Surrey as an industrial location ✅ The latest rental trends ✅ The rise in demand for ESG-activated stock, which outweighs supply ✅ What's on the market ✅ The industrial supply gap Discover this and more 🔗⬇️ For help and support with your industrial property needs in Surrey, whether you are an occupier or landlord, get in touch. https://bit.ly/3UpGizM #Surrey #industrialmarket #industrialinsight #commercialproperty #commercialrealestate

The London team had a fantastic evening with the Carbon Funding Consultants last Wednesday. After an insightful market update, the day was wrapped up with some axe throwing— because who doesn’t love a bit of friendly competition? 🏆 Looking forward to the next catch-up. #BetterTogether #London #Networking #MarketUpdate
Always a pleasure to spend an afternoon/evening with the Vail Williams gang 🔥✨ Lets just say I’m more likely to end up in a ‘what not to do’ video when it comes to throwing an axe 😂 Well done Jason Kidd for winning best axe thrower 👀 anyone who may even dare challenge his valuation methodology, watch out. We tried to stick to a professional shot but whats the fun in that when you’re wielding an axe? Got to at least pretend to take a swing at your colleagues… We love eachother really ! 😍 Carbon Funding Consultants Clare Gotsell Stephanie Mooney Paul Lyons Philip Johnson Jason Kidd Nigel Whitehurst Matt Wakeman Danny George Freddie Worth

🏛️Blog: Historic buildings face perfect storm as landlords face crippling maintenance costs The UK is home to a vast array of historic buildings, many of which are still occupied and in use today. In fact, we have one of the oldest building stocks in Europe, with 32% of all non-domestic buildings built prior to 1919. These were constructed to stand the test of time using quality materials which were second to none - from their solid stone walls to natural slate tiles to lead roofs. But the maintenance of these historic buildings is becoming ever harder, and it’s not just because of rising material costs. Together with a shortage of skilled tradespeople and the increasing responsibility to protect historic buildings from environmental changes, landlords are facing the perfect storm, as Associate, Christopher Bailey MRICS, explores. Chris, who specialises in historic buildings having previously looked after Windsor Castle, provides his top tips to help landlords ensure that their historic assets thrive well into the future. Thank you also to Jonathan Williams, Master Stonemason at Fortis Masonry, for your additional insight for this piece. 🔗⬇️ https://bit.ly/4htvvyD We support owners and occupiers of historic buildings with a range of services - from condition assessments and planned preventative maintenance programmes (PPMs) to identify, prioritise and project manage works needed, to supporting with the necessary planning permission.
