Slavery is an umbrella term for situations where one person obtains or holds another person in compelled service. An estimated 50 million people worldwide are in modern slavery: 1 in 4 are children. Many organisations fear the reputational damage of modern slavery being exposed in their operations or supply chains, but still downplay the issue. Big news! 📣 Thanks to National Lottery players, our UK-wide Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline has secured £1 million in funding over five years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. 🙌🙌 This vital support will enable us to expand our capacity to target hard-to-reach communities and respond to the growing demand for modern slavery support.
