Tysers, is delighted to announce the appointment of BABITA RAI as CEO, Tysers Singapore, and William Furness - Smith as Head of Marine, APAC. Babita joined Tysers in 2023 as Managing Director to lead Reinsurance operations in Singapore. In her new role as CEO, Singapore, Babita is exceptionally well placed to expand core areas of business and deepen Tysers’ client relationships in the APAC region. In his role as Head of Marine, APAC, William has moved to the Singapore office, further bolstering Tysers’ offering and expertise in Asia Pacific. William will work with the teams across Tysers’ Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong offices to build innovative, tailored solutions for emerging risks. Last week Tysers was delighted to co-sponsor and attend iCAN: The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network Manchester’s event at CNA Hardy’s Manchester Office. The event ‘Breaking Barriers’ was one of a number of events to celebrate Black History Month. Tysers, Nicola Leighton National Development Director, Retail, introduced Jason Robinson OBE, ex-English Rugby Union International, as he outlined his truly inspirational journey breaking through barriers to become the  first black British man to captain the England rugby team. Tysers Live Theatre Team had an amazing evening at the Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre Awards on Sunday. Hosted by Faye Tozer at The Grand, Northumberland Avenue, this vibrant event, celebrated the talents and achievements of many in the theatre industry in a fantastic atmosphere.   “It was a pleasure to witness so many achievements within the industry & talk to the many creatives in the room about their plans for the forthcoming year,” said Tamsin Edwards. “We were accompanied by Georgina Turner and Rachele Kelsall from Ecclesiastical Insurance UK who also partner with UK Theatre alongside Tysers Live. Tysers runs Manchester Half Marathon for Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity. Last weekend Tim Thornhill, Rob McCurrie and Tom Hodgson completed the 13.1 mile route starting from Old Trafford, and covering Hulme, City Centre, Stretford, Sale and Chorlton. Collectively the team raised £2,543 for Nordoff and Robbins who do fantastic work breaking through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation by providing music therapy to people across the UK whilst also training the music therapists of the future. #NordoffandRobbins #ManchesterHalfMarathon #TysersTeam #fundraising

The Tysers Live Team attended the Theatres Trust conference ‘Making Theatres Thrive’ on Tuesday 8th October at The Lowry, Salford.   Jon Morgan Theatre’s Trust Director opened the conference in the wonderful Quays Theatre and The Lowry’s julia fawcett gave an inspirational speech about her journey in becoming the theatres CEO which supported her message that the arts really do have the power to transform lives.   Sustainability was a hot topic with an interesting presentation from Ian Archer at the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford and how they have delivered sustainability in their theatre and the difference it has made.
