We are deeply saddened to share the news that Chris Pollard, board director, co-founder and former CEO, has passed away. Chris was an inspirational and much respected figure who played a pivotal role in building Tower into the global business it is today, dedicated to delivering medicines safely and sustainably. In addition to his role as Non-Executive Director, Chris embraced the opportunity to act as our ESG Ambassador, representing the board and wider team to ensure focus and deliver change. What always stood out was Chris’ passion for Tower and its people. Although he couldn't be as present at Tower in recent times, his insightful and challenging market questions were a testament to his unwavering dedication to our company, its success, and its people. Beyond Tower, Chris was a wonderful storyteller, an avid fan (and player) of rugby and a keen motorist. Before his career at Tower, Chris was the editor and later publisher of the renowned Gramophone magazine. Chris was instrumental in getting the Gramophone Awards – complete with performances by Luciano Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa and Paul McCartney – broadcast on UK television. Chris will be very sadly missed by all who knew him but has left a fine and lasting legacy for Tower. Our thoughts are with Chris’ wife and family.
