It’s Net Zero Week ♻️ which is a great opportunity for us to reflect on our progress as well as make sure we’re on track with the changes we’re making. Here are some of the steps we’re taking with decarbonisation as our main sustainability priority: 💡 We’re working hard to source sustainable products. Our Wessex lighting range has 120Lm/W and an average life of around 25 years, really helping households reduce their energy use and carbon impact from lighting. 🛍️ Our plastic bag use has reduced from 2 million to less than 41,000 since 2022, and we’re continuing to reduce or eliminate plastic. 🧠 93% of colleagues have completed an ESG module to increase expertise on sustainability and carbon, and nearly 800 apprentices have completed more comprehensive training as part of their programme. Our Quality Assurance Manager, Paul Field, expands on what we're working on next: “We have set ambitious SBTi-accredited carbon reduction targets and continue to make good progress in delivering against these. As Travis Perkins plc, we are focussing heavily on upskilling colleagues, improving carbon data, and collaborating on more sustainable products and services for customers.
