Over the last few months, we have been working in collaboration with other industry experts to update and improve the GAPPRI guidance material on behalf of CANSO. We have been a key contributor in the development of the material from the initial concept stage back in 2023 and again recently in expanding the material even further with additional guidance and explanatory material. Last week we welcomed Adrienne Coles from the The Dorset Children's Foundation to our office. She walked us through the incredible work that the charity is doing to support and improve the lives of children with disabilities within our local community. She showcased some of the bespoke events that they organise, which are often activities that would not usually be accessible to children with disabilities, as well as some of the groups and workshops that they have set up in order to support the families. With only a few weeks to go until the start of our 3,309 mile October distance challenge, we were given a full insight into the charity and how the money we raise will support the operation of their new community hub in Boscombe, so click below and help us raise as much as we can: https://lnkd.in/ee3tHS4K

In October we are planning to undertake our biggest team challenge yet, in order to raise as much money as we can to support our local children's charity - The Dorset Children's Foundation. We will be taking part in a group distance challenge covering the equivalent distance in miles between our Bournemouth HQ and our office in Doha, by running, hiking, swimming and biking. This is a total distance of 3,309 miles to cover in just 31 days. When we heard that the DCF were looking for support for their new Community Hub in Boscombe, we jumped at the chance to help raise much needed funds. Any sponsorship support, big or small would be greatly appreciated and would help the DCF in creating an amazing new space for the children and families that they support within our local community. I had the pleasure of attending the Sustainable Skies World Summit at Farnborough International this week. It was fascinating to learn about the advancements OEMs, airlines, airports, and aerospace manufacturers are making in scaling up SAF, hydrogen powerplants, and carbon capture/storage technologies. However, climate scientists and industry experts at the summit emphasised that aviation still has significant challenges to overcome, especially in mitigating the non-CO2 impacts of aviation. Concerningly, 90% of respondents at the start of the show expressed doubts about the industry meeting its net zero targets by 2050. Given the critical role of the ATM industry in this journey, I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the CANSO GreenATM accreditation programme with attendees across the summit.
