Things are getting WILD over at Booths where you can find our Original WilderBee Hot Honey and our newest Sriracha Hot Honey spicing up the shelves of all stores, now! It feels like quite a poignant listing this one, as it was sat on Catbells Fell, munching on Booths goodies with my friend and business partner, where we planned how we’d take the business from the hatch of my food truck to the world.. Getting there! 🌍

Hard work, belief and a great product pays off! 🐝🌶️ After a successful trial listing on the shelves of Marks and Spencer, a healthy rate of sale and our product driving 27% new customers into the honey category (I love a stat), WilderBee Hot Honey has officially graduated to a new shiny listing! As of next week you’ll be able to find us in an initial run of 150 stores, with more to come by Christmas, as we continue to disrupt the honey category with our fusion of sustainability and spice. Let me give you a tour around my office. Welcome to WilderWorking™ 🌿 Call me a weirdo, but least 2 days a week I work in nature. It runs through me and our business at WilderBee Hot Honey. I was born and raised in a forest, and it’s where my health and mental wellbeing thrives. 🪵 I’ve approached and pitched to major supermarkets sat on the same log. Including our current listings with Marks and Spencer and Co-op. 🌳 I’ve had zoom calls in the Forest. And to some major prospective clients, who I’m guessing by the lack of comment assume it’s a zoom background 😅. 🦆 I’ve designed, labels, packaging and marketing assets sat on the edge of a lake. 💡 I have most of my best, and sometimes questionable ideas when I’m walking in nature. Cue random voice notes to my business partner as he listens head in hands to my next wild idea. We all have a very capable computer in our pockets, and armed with an iPhone and power bank, I do some of my best work out here. I’ve branded it WilderWorking™ 😅 does anyone else do this?..

How many UK chain restaurants REALLY put sustainability first? I’ve worked in and around hospitality for over two decades 👴🏼 - fiercely focused on sustainability. And I’ve seen some of the UK’s biggest chain restaurants cut so many corners when it comes to sourcing ingredients - putting budget ingredients before sustainability and quality. So I absolutely LOVE to see brands like Byron 🍔 sourcing well and being proud to shout about thier suppliers, including WilderBee Hot Honey of course. Link in the comments for Byron’s new menu and some of the brilliant suppliers they are working with. We look forward to seeing more of the big boys follow suit! 🌎

💚 This week we gave our Head of Food, Adam Layton the tough task of sharing his top 3 local burgers… read on and be prepared to feel hungry. 🤤 -   Windsor: This burger is made special by a couple of awesome collabs - we teamed up with a local business called The Test Kitchen, which was established as a food truck by gourmand couple Milly and John back in 2017. It also features a delicious Waterloo cheese which is made 20 miles away. The Windsor local is Honest beef burger with Waterloo cheese, bacon, tarragon and miso butter, crispy onions, mushroom sour cream, lettuce and beef jus mayo. -   Holborn: This local special has been on the menu for over 4 years, being one of the longest standing local burgers. It's a collab with Baggio Burgers, run by a father and son team known for their Amalfi-coast-inspired burgers. 🇮🇹 With our shared love of Italian ingredients, the Holborn special is a winning combination of Honest beef burger, crispy Parma ham, mozzarella, Baggio Burger salsa verde, nduja mayo, rocket and red onion. -   Brewer Street: This is one of the latest local specials created by Brewer St Grill Master, Dante. This is our take on classic southern fried chicken biscuits, levelled up with WilderBee Hot Honey which was created on board chef Dan Shearman’s ethical food truck in 2014. The Brewer Street special is Honest fried chicken with American cheese, buffalo sauce, WilderBee Hot Honey, brown butter mustard mayo, lettuce and pickles. 🐔 🍯 #collaboration #localspecial #localproducts #passion

🍽️ FOODIE FRIDAY 🍽️ For those of you new to following me, I showcase x3 food & drink brands each week, reviewing them both with a consumer & buyer hat-on. It's great for discovering new brands to try, promoting young or new brands &/or highlighting some exciting NPD in this space. So let's do it... 🍯 WilderBee Hot Honey is causing quite a buzz within the honey sector for it's chilli infused amber nectar. The UK's original hot honey brand, these guys produced this game-changing product with ethically farmed, bee-friendly, organic wildflower honey & sustainably sourced chilli's. Honestly it goes on everything from pizza, eggs, pancakes, even ice-cream (trust me). It's award-winning, it's delicious, it's innovative & fun to play around with and all in fully recyclable packaging. Just launched into Marks and Spencer, I can also see it working in Sainsbury's & Ocado Retail as well as Whole Foods Market & Selfridges. Would be great to see in the bigger pizza chains such as Zizzi Restaurants, PizzaExpress & Franco Manca. 🍄 My truffle love is infinite, even more so I've now tried NALO maple & truffle seasoned nuts. Yes, ridiculous. Perfect balance of sweet & earthy and obvs super luxurious. Good crunch & amount of seasoning and really interesting world travel inspired flavour combinations. An impressive super transparent supply chain of ethical & quality ingredients as well as a solar powered manufacturing facility are a great point of difference. The branding is modern & fresh and they've won 'Great Taste Awards' too. Available in jars, pouches & a 1.5kg catering bag. Great bar snacks for places such as The Cocktail Club, Inception Group, London, The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant Ltd as well as restaurant & hotel nibbles such as Sea Containers London, Gymkhana Fine Foods. ☕ In the UK we drink tons of tea (100 million cups a day) but have somehow neglected iced tea? The big brands in this space are full of sugar & not authentic tea based products. So enter Marna, a fizzy, zero sugar iced tea, cold brewed over 24hrs for a delicious fresh taste. With the classic flavours of lemon & peach & some beautifully simple branding, these guys definitely stand out. The fizz made it refreshing, you could taste the quality of the assam & darjeeling and I like the packaging. And their merch ain't bad either 😋 Perfect for healthier QSR's such as atis, The Salad Project, Farmer J as well as Uni's such as Chartwells UK, TUCO Ltd, Sodexo. Would like to see them take on premium convenience against lipton's so Nisa Retail, Tropicana Wholesale (Tropicana Health and Fitness Ltd), Budgens.
