It's been an incredible past few days at Money20/20 Vegas! We did an impromptu gathering of fintech marketers on the Tuesday afternoon (and forgot to take pics 😆). And we especially loved the Wednesday morning, which included sessions focused on fintech marketing. Some key takeaways from that morning: → From Betsy Samuel: Always come to a board meeting prepared. Ideally come with an Amazon style memo and ask everyone to read it, that way everyone gets the full picture and you don't have to make a case in the last 5 minutes of the meeting. → From Will Thompson: Use a tool like DreamData to tell a story of how prospects become customers. Showing your leaders how a person watched 2 webinars, downloaded 3 reports and read 10 blogs before converting is a very powerful way of showing them the power of marketing. → From Rivka Gewirtz Little: Instilling FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) in your marketing isn't a great way to resonate with your audience. Instead, showcasing how a fraud platform can help acquire more good customers is a better approach. → From Irina Chuchkina: Influencers within B2B are very valuable. Make sure to build relationships and activate those as well. It's been a fantastic few days, we'll be doing a write-up on fintech marketers' thoughts looking forward to 2025 soon. In the meantime, look forward to seeing many of you in London for our next event: Fintech Talents Festival on the 11th November! 🤩

Amazing feedback from one of our members and participant in our mentoring programme! 🙌 👇 Thank you Amélie Arras for sharing! And if you’d like to join the next #fintechmarketing mentoring cohort, join the community now! 🤗
This is Lauren Satchwell – an incredible, smart, dynamic, go-getter, and full-of-potential woman I had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with throughout the year. Yesterday, we met for the first time in real life. I loved every minute and left feeling extremely energised. She, and the work we do together, is a true pot-filler for me. Side note… Pot filler vs. pot driller – something I often reflect on, inspired by Mike Pegg’s incredible website, The Positive Encourager, which I highly recommend. (I’ll leave the link in the comments.) Yesterday, as Lauren and I were talking, we both felt our gratitude to The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC for their mentorship initiative. I have been a mentee and have had the incredible opportunity to work with mentors including Nim Haas, Victoria Peppiatt and Dagmara Aldridge (as a coach), Sian Baker, and also the unofficial mentors at Zumo. I’ve learned so much, sharpened my skills, identified skill gaps, and improved my stakeholder management, and last but not least about myself. As a mentor, I find the experience even more enlightening. Listening to others’ challenges makes me reflect, deepens my empathy, and enhances my problem-solving approach. Supporting others in their growth journey helps me grow. It’s the pot filler for me - it’s a way to have a positive impact on people and it inspires me to keep pushing my own boundaries. So if you have the opportunity. 1) get to know Lauren she doesn’t need it but I would hire her in a heartbeat. 2) get involve with a mentorship programme, and if you need some links happy to share.

First day at M2020 complete! ✅ Araminta Robertson hosted a panel discussion on fintech marketing in the US vs the UK, with two amazing panellists: • Jodie Taylor, Head of Marketing at B4B Payments - A Banking Circle Group Company • Betsy Samuel, CMO at Thredd A few key takeaways: → If your company operates in both countries, it's important to have people on the team based in both countries who can sense check messaging and share what will / won't work. → The US market prefers bolder, more direct marketing. The UK is more subtle. Make sure you don't mix the two! → Partner with local companies and agencies to get on the ground knowledge share of regulations, payment systems and key challenges companies are facing. And so much more! Onto Day 2 🚀
