We spent the afternoon at Jimmy Choo Academy (JCA) 🤩 Last week, THE FASHION BLUEPRINT had the privilege of joining forces with academics at JCA to shed light on the pressing issue of waste colonialism and supply chain innovation. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with Jimmy Choo himself and engage in a meaningful dialogue Our discussion at JCA's inaugural Symposium was a testament to the power of collaboration and forward-thinking dialogue. Founders, Misi Chanel Ogunlana and Giovanna Vieira Co champion sustainability and inclusivity through THE FASHION BLUEPRINT in the efforts to create positive change in the fashion industry and were thrilled to see the engagement and enthusiasm from fellow academics and industry leaders as we explored avenues for change and innovation 🚀 85% of all textiles produced annually end up in landfills, this excessive waste not only harms the environment but also disproportionately impacts communities in developing countries. £50K grant winners! THE FASHION BLUEPRINT has been named a Creative Catalyst by Innovate UK, the national innovation agency 🔬🌐🤩 What started as a community-centred consultancy in 2019, supporting micro entrepreneurs to start and scale more sustainable fashion businesses, has now evolved into a leading circular fashion manufacturing solution The industry’s traditional and outdated model has made it so that designers looked to manufacture overseas, primarily in China and Bangladesh, to be able to achieve economies of scale - a model which requires them to buy in high order quantities, which are often left unsold at the end of the season. This is one of the key reasons why 85% of all textiles end up in landfills in West Africa, causing waste colonialism. With Brexit and the logistics crisis that followed, offshoring (manufacturing overseas) is no longer cost-efficient 💰 We saw an opportunity to bring manufacturing back to the UK and use technology to improve the fashion supply chain. TFB STUDIOS caters specifically to the needs of independent fashion brands, which make up the majority of the £62.2 billion industry 🇬🇧 TFB STUDIOS has no minimum order quantities. The use of 3D fashion design technology enables us to reduce lead times from 2 months to 2 weeks and eliminate waste emissions by up to 97%. We source environmentally-friendly and deadstock materials for our clients and solve the problem of unsold pieces through upcycling services ♻️ The Innovate UK award has been instrumental in catapulting TFB STUDIOS. We have been able to run a successful MVP, where we have seen up to 210% growth MoM, with an active client list 📈 As we now embark on a fundraising journey for our AI-enabled solution, we are excited to continue building on our mission and supporting our community.
