This week's #OnlineArtExchange is #HiddenDetails - and you don't get much more hidden than the tiny soldiers, using a planned tunnel beneath a river to get about! They are very hard to spot, even with the right tools... Drawn by Joseph Pinchback and captioned in French by Marc Brunel, the image dates from 1818. It is possible it was part of the proposal for a bridge under the River Neva at St Petersburg, sent by Brunel to the Russian Tsar.

We had an incredible time during our #OpenHouse weekend at the Brunel Museum! 🏛️🌟
It was wonderful to welcome so many visitors and share the history of the Thames Tunnel with you all. 📚 Visitors enjoyed hourly guided tours, learning about how the Thames Tunnel revolutionised engineering and hearing stories of how the Brunel Exhibition Rotherhithe saved the site in the 1970s. As part of Open House this weekend, we're very excited to announce that Gail Dickerson will be showing an exhibition entitled Excavate! on Sunday 22 September. Gail took geological samples from the area around the Museum, and has transformed them into paints and pigments, to produce a body of work exploring the local environment.
