✨Black history and culture should be celebrated all year round. We’re proud to support incredible organisations that share these stories and experiences every day. The Black Curriculum is on a mission to teach accessible and engaging Black histories all year round, 365 days a year, to empower and educate young people. They are campaigning to embed Black histories into the UK national curriculum. Black Cultural Archives celebrates the histories of people of African and Caribbean descent in the UK and to inspire and give strength to individuals, communities, and society. Their current exhibition ‘Race Today: Black History is British History’ explores how the journal Race Today consistently pushed boundaries and redefined the standard for radical journalism. As historian David Olusoga said, "Black history is a series of missing chapters from British history." We hope more organisations and schools will fill in these missing chapters and teach and celebrate Black history all year round. #TBH365 #ReclaimingNarratives #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM

🌟 Powerful Day of Learning and Reflection at HMP Brixton🌟 Last Thursday, The Black Curriculum had the privilege of visiting HMP Brixton in partnership with Prison Radio Association where we engaged in conversation with some of the young people there, on the theme of this years Black History Month: Reclaiming the Narrative. Alongside the incredible George The Poet Limited, we had the eye-opening experience of hearing their stories while discussing the impact of education in the lives of these young people. We had the chance to explore stories often left out of mainstream narratives. It was inspiring to see how these discussions sparked a sense of empowerment and reflection among everyone involved. It's moments like these that remind us how essential it is to make Black history accessible to everyone, everywhere. #TheBlackCurriculum #TransformativeJustice #EducationForAll #EmpowermentThroughKnowledge
