TEAM TRAINING HAS A NEW HOME AT GADBROOK PARK, NORTHWICH. We have doubled the size of our gym to cater for more classes, more open gym time, and of course to further facilitate our passion for longevity and our love for sport, fitness racing, and in particular our speciality of HYROX. At Team Training we have PAYG classes, a full private equipped gymnasium, multiple Concept 2 cardio machines, private 1-2-1 personal training, small group PT team training in the private gym, and weekly hikes and social events and our now infamous FITNESS RACING TEAM.     On Wednesday evenings at Team Training, and Thursday mornings we offer HYBRID TRAINING GROUP TRAINING CLASSES: What is #hybridtraining? Hybrid training means working across multiple disciplines to improve your all-round performance. So for instance training to improve both strength and endurance in the same session. Hybrid athletes use a blend of training styles with the aim of improving within all of them. The Team Training hybrid training sessions, will help you to combine your strength and endurance goals to build and improve your health and fitness, whilst improving overall stamina, strength, power and ability.     It is refreshing to see the fitness industry moving on from being all about appearance. When I first got into the industry it shocked and surprised me how almost everybody I spoke to only wanted to “look” better. Hardly anyone spoke about improving the way they felt or performed and I can say this with authority because I’ve been listening to people’s wishes for over 20 years. The bodybuilding figure competing world seemed to have “dibs” on what happened in gyms and people went there to “look” better. Over the years however, and particularly since the birth of CrossFit, gym workouts have become more exciting and there is now tons of evidence supporting the health benefits of exercise. This means we’ve seen a huge swing in the desires from what people actually want from their physical effort. Looking better is still of importance but along with aesthetics there are two other desires. Feeling better (with better health markers) and performing better have come into play much more and as people who’ve attended gyms for years are aging, those reasons are taking more of a centre stage. Attending gyms and focussing on one’s health through exercise to look, feel and move better is what the wise people are doing now. The excuse not to exercise because it’s for posers, meat heads and gym bunnies is no longer a valid reason. If you want to live a better quality life, everything starts with an E.     Team Training ENGINE day can help you to live longer, get fitter and get faster. ENGINE day at TEAM is structured to help you increase your VO2 Max. What is VO2 Max and why is it important? Vo2 Max is the maximum amount of oxygen that your body can use and absorb during exercise. The higher your VO2 max the fitter you are , the faster you are but also the healthier you are. Think about your oxygenated blood leaving your heart to be pumped around your body to its vital organs. The less oxygen in the blood, when it returns to the heart, the more efficient and healthy your cardiovascular system is - and that is great news for long term health and smashing out more p.b’s in your race. You can get your Vo2 max score measured, to understand exactly where you are at right now in terms of health and fitness. This is one of the most accurate indicators of how long you are going to live and what you are going to be able to do in the last 10 years of your life. VO2 Max tests can be done at team training - so please ask for more details if you are interested. OR - Turn up to ENGINE day and start tracking your numbers on the Concept 2 machines and your weekly progress. One session per week of team engine day for just 8 weeks can see you improve by around 15% over this short period of time. The longer you continue the more success you will achieve. VO2 Max – your hearts efficiency- can ALWAYS be improved by training - no matter how old you are. VO2 Max intervals range from 3 - 8 minutes with a tiny bit less intensity that HITT training. Numbers on the Concept 2 machines became your measures and give you the targets to push yourself to your new and ever improving peak aerobic capacity. Come to this class consistently every week and you are quite literally giving yourself the gift of extra years of life with increased physical ability and of course a faster race time too if that is what you are all about at the moment.     It’s not all about winning races you know! On Saturday Team Training hosted a Driathlon event. We hosted lots of members from other local gyms, as well as our own, all competing in this new event for their chance to get on the national Driathlon leaderboard, and compete in the November grand Final. 20 mins ski 20 mins bike 20 mins row All for MAX CALORIES A great event and its always fun to get lots of people together for fitness goals and highs.     Our evening and Saturday morning pay as you go classes, go from strength to strength, with the full TEAM offering available in an evening and at a weekend now. Monday - HYROX (60 Mins) You will be guided through the ultimate HYROX workout from Concept 2 cardio, carry’s, burpees, and sandbag lunges, to perfect run laps, wall balls and HYROX weight sled pulls and pushes. Tuesday - ENGINE (60 Mins) Experience a new level of fitness conditioning in this Concept 2 cardio class. Ski Erg, Bike Erg, Indoor Row and Run & Sprint yourself to new levels of speed and stamina. Wednesday - HYBRID (60 Mins) This session could be based around speed, power, endurance, accuracy, balance, skill or a combination of them all. Part of the joy is in turning up and finding out what’s in store! Deadly Dozen, Athx, Hyrox, and Deka exercises are all included in this ultimate workout of the day. Thursday - STRENGTH (60 Mins) The big moves such as squat, deadlift, bench press, pull up, lunge and carry are all available to you and there’s as much weight as you could ever lift to keep you progressing. Don’t underestimate this session as one of the most important of the week for ageing, longevity, athletic stamina, endurance and performance. Saturday - THE TEAM TRAINING HYROX EXPERIENCE (90 Mins)) Train for 90 minutes every Saturday, to increase your stamina and endurance and build the resilience needed to take on any HYROX or fitness racing challenge. Take advantage of perfect outdoor 1K running loops, an abundance of HYROX racing standard equipment, concept 2 rowers and ski ergs, custom sled push and pull tracks, and 12 wall ball stations. With indoor and outdoor training available to suit all weathers and 5 official HYROX qualified instructors, it is no wonder we have podium finishers and world championship qualifiers from our 3 years of experience in this discipline. All PAYG classes are £12 including our 90 minute Saturday class. If this is too much...why not buy a class pass and get any of the classes above for only £9 per session.
