We've come across an issue with #Microsoft #Dynamics365 following an update from Microsoft on 31st August. If you are getting an error related to Microsoft.Dynamics.RICommon.GDPROptOutPreValidationPlugin then read on. This specific plugin is triggered on the msdyn_gdproptout field on the Contact record. We don't make use of this field in our core platforms, and so our BlueCRM clients are unaffected, however we do provide support to non BlueCRM clients too. Microsoft have seemingly removed the plugin handler but somehow left the trigger itself, meaning if you attempt to change the msdyn_gdproptout flag and therefore trigger this plugin, you'll receive an unavoidable error. You may also receive this error if you have particularly bad code that performs full updates on the Contact record, i.e. every field, rather than the specific fields that have changed. This type of code will also trigger the above plugin, and is the more likely scenario for the error. It's not possible to disable this plugin, nor is it possible to modify how it triggers. The solution we have is to intercept the plugin prior to it triggering to prevent it from triggering altogether. If you are receiving this issue and need more help, please feel free to reach out!
