    🦋 Trust the process! 🦋 Sometimes it's easy to feel like nothing is going your way, constant knockbacks and leaving yourself thinking. "Maybe it is better just to give up" or "I can't do it" Sometimes, things never seem to go your way—whether this is related to job applications, interview processes, or even everyday sales. My advice is to keep pushing forward and trust that every step will get you closer to the end goal. I'll tell you why. ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ As children, many of us learn about the wondrous process by which a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly. This process can be transferred to everyday life and the ups and downs in business. The story usually begins with a ravenous caterpillar hatching from an egg. The caterpillar, or what is more scientifically termed a larva, stuffs itself with leaves, growing plumper and longer through a series of molts in which it sheds its skin. One day, the caterpillar stops eating, hangs upside down from a twig or leaf, spins itself a silky cocoon, or molts into a shiny chrysalis. The caterpillar radically transforms its body within its protective casing, eventually emerging as a butterfly. 🐛But what does that radical transformation entail? 🐛How does a caterpillar rearrange itself into a butterfly? 🐛What happens inside a chrysalis or cocoon? First, the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes to dissolve all of its tissues. If you were to cut open a cocoon or chrysalis at just the right time, caterpillar soup would ooze out. ❌ A butterfly isn't just a curled-up caterpillar who falls asleep one night and starts sprouting wings. It digests itself into a gloopy blob to form the perfect environment to start the next part of the growth process. But the pupa's contents are not entirely amorphous. Certain highly organised groups of key cells, known as imaginal discs, survive the digestive process. Once a caterpillar has disintegrated all of its tissues except for the imaginal discs, those discs use the protein-rich soup all around them to fuel the rapid cell division required to form the wings and all the other features of an adult butterfly. _______________________________________________ So, if you are feeling a bit like caterpillar soup, don't worry.     Unlike the guy in the song "irreplaceable" by Beyonce... us headhunters are not going anywhere soon. Here is a look at five of the soft skills that will remain irreplaceable in the age of AI: 1. 🤗 AI won’t have empathy for candidates. If you think about your placements, how many of them come from just “knowing” that your client will love your candidate? On more times that i can count, i have had candidates who often don’t immediately stand out as the ideal candidate on paper but you just know an initial meeting should happen. AI cannot experience a culture or a personality fit review from the outside, neither can we, but we can find out. 2. ⭐ Human recruiters can actually SELL a job. AI is very capable of matching up the algorithms of key skills and experience versus that on a candidates CV. However, especially in Executive Search it takes a human to know how to sell and present an opportunity to another human. Especially when the "best" in the market are the least likely to take notice of a job ad. 3. 🤖 AI will never really influence the process. As a headhunter, you can understand more about what the business needs and this may broaden the criteria for the right hire for them. Therefore, human recruiters are influencers and not simply box tickers which ultimately is all AI can ever be. 4. ❤️AI will never love their job like we do. As functional as AI already is and will continue to be, the fact is, what has made me successful and other recruiters who work as I do, experts in their field, is my LOVE and PASSION for the market and job that I do. AI can never replace post-placement pastoral care for getting the job done properly and not just perfunctorily. 5. 🧑🤝🧑 Recruitment is a human being industry. AI is methodical and based on data. However, recruitment is the ultimate “human being industry” and therefore human recruiters will always be involved in the sector. It is a tactile process and this is something AI can never achieve. AI and automation can certainly make the repetitive administrative daily tasks of talent acquisition professionals easier and more efficient, but soft skills are what will make recruiters indispensable! 🌟
