About us
Welcome to the official LinkedIn page of the South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit. We are responsible for leading investigations into complex cyber dependent crimes impacting organisations in the South West region, such as large-scale computer and network intrusions, denial of service attacks, ransomware, and malware development. Operating as part of the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), we work in collaboration with the five forces in the region - Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. An integral part of our work lies in providing cyber security advice, messaging and guidance to organisations of all sizes and sectors. Guidance is based on the very latest cyber threat intelligence from the National Cyber Security Centre and our own investigations. To find out more, visit https://www.rocu.police.uk/capabilities/cyber-crime/, and follow us on Twitter at @swrccu. Please do NOT use this page to report crime. We cannot accept reports, and the page is not monitored 24/7. If you are a business, charity or other organisation which is suffering a LIVE cyber-attack, please call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. If you are a member of the public you can report fraud or cybercrime at any time using the Action Fraud online reporting tool at www.actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040 between 0800 and 2000 hrs Mon-Fri.

Yesterday we hosted our annual SWRCCU Leaders Conference in Bristol. Thank you to our brilliant speakers Suman Krishan (Leonardo) and Melanie Wilcox (Seasalt ) for sharing their expertise and insights on AI and navigating cyber challenges. The audience were really enaged with the subjects and you really bought the topics to life. Also a huge thank you to Matt Hatcher and NatWest for hosting the event and helping everything run smoothly. Finally, a thank you to the attendees who battled the Bristol traffic to join us. It was great to catch up with contacts and meet new ones. We hope you enjoyed the conference and it enriched your #cybermonth2024 . We really do value your feedback, so if you have any comments, please let us know. #cybersecurityawarenessmonth

It's still #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth, and our Protect team are certainly playing their part this week! Tomorrow we're very excited to hold our fourth annual Leaders Conference, a non-technical event for senior leaders and decision makers of organisations from across the SW. We are very fortunate to have some scintillating speakers from Leonardo, Seasalt, and one of our very own will be presenting a case study from the unit. That same afternoon we'll also be hosting a session of our popular Investing in Infrastructure workshop! On Wednesday we're running one of the network's famed Cyber Escape Rooms, along with our Phishing Masterclass for a business making very good use of our free offerings. Thursday we run our second Cyber Escape Room of the week, and to cap it all off on Friday it's...another Cyber Escape Room! This month is a great opportunity for companies who want to keep their staff informed of how to stay protected against cyber incidents. Fortunately our team are on hand all year round to deliver inputs, so if you're interested in working with us, get in touch!
