At the CIVIC TRUST AWARDS 2024, we were thrilled that Bokšto Skveras was honoured with the Michael Middleton Special Award! This prestigious accolade, presented in memory of Michael Middleton CBE, who founded the Civic Trust Awards in 1959, celebrates outstanding restoration projects or new builds within conservation areas. The judges praised our work, saying: "A fascinating transformation of a historically sensitive site" and "A true marvel of understated yet captivating architecture. Its thoughtful interventions contribute immense value to the overall site." In the last two years at the CIVIC TRUST AWARDS, we've celebrated back-to-back special award wins, a remarkable achievement highlighted by the Civic Trust Awards team as: "Two years consecutive special award wins and two wonderful projects. What an achievement and quite possibly never done before!” Reflecting on our journey, we're inspired to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity and excellence. Hearst Magazines Rising above an olive grove on Paros' west side, the house sits gently on the landscape delineated by the calculated variations between different terrazzo surfaces and Greek marble. Creating a subtle but vital gradation, the considered adjustments allow the magic of the landscape imbue the house with a unique energy for which we build by the seaside. As part of the northern resort in our masterplan for Art Island, the beach resort emerges from dense foliage of the landscape. Envisioned as a series of circular sculptures emerging from the landscape, the wellness centre sits along an axis punctuated by a reception pavilion and an over the water restaurant. Surrounded by a circular reflecting body of water, a large stone clad canopy hovers above the fitness and spa facilities, creating a focal point around the covered garden. By inviting nature in to play an integral role in the rejuvenating journey, the wellness centre creates an intimate experience for guests, contrasting the monumentality of the roof. Reflections completes the sculptural composition, playfully framing the architecture and landscaping in a dynamic and balanced manner, allowing light and shadow to create moments of shade and drama. #Spa #WellnessRetreat #BeachResort #Architecture #Archisculpture

We are excited to share with you a recent competition we completed for the Belvedere Palace in Vienna, Austria. The aim of our scheme is to conserve, safeguard and enrich the historic landscape and architectural ensemble. Our interventions are carefully designed not to obstruct the building’s façade; only to be unveiled gradually as one approaches the building. Our proposal embodies a contemporary architectural intervention designed to foster a harmonious and reverential conversation with its historical predecessor. It presents a composition of intersecting ellipsoids that extends the motif of reflection found in the Baroque gardens, and a visitor centre that pays homage to the distinctive architectural style of the Upper Belvedere Palace. #Baroque #BelvederePalace #Heritage #Museum #Vienna

Construction of the first rammed earth wall in El Gouna is underway at Art Island! A mock-up of the villa is taking shape and is set to be completed in 2-3 months. Our vision for Art Island is to create an architecture that incorporates landscaping as a key element. Rather than traditional small villas in a garden, we crafted landscapes within the villas. The chalet units are designed into smaller volumes interspersed with courtyards and bodies of water. The rammed earth walls, strategically oriented East-West, not only serve as primary structural elements but also shield individual villas from the region's strong prevailing winds. Additionally, they boast impressive sustainability credentials, with low embodied carbon energy and minimal waste generation, contributing to the overall energy efficiency of the villas. #RammedEarth #SustainableArchitecture #ArtIsland

Today is the penultimate day of the Genuss Film Alpen hosted at the Andermatt Concert Hall, where the Soirée Genuss Swiss Food Award will be presented this evening.
