Introducing Lily Stevenson, our Finance Business Partner who recently became a part of our team. We were eager to learn more about her, so here's what she shared with us:   💜 Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your career has led you to us? 📢 Upon selecting Accounts for A level, I discovered my ideal career path. I earned a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Lincoln in 2016, and obtained ACCA qualified status in 2021. Starting as an Accounts Assistant at a logistics company after university, I progressed up the finance hierarchy to my current position as a Finance Business Partner. Transitioning to a new role at Staysure outside of logistics is a thrilling opportunity for me, and I am enthusiastic about the learning and growth it will bring.   💜 Why Staysure? 📢 The underlying ethics and goals Staysure have really connected with me. The background of Staysure and its roots prove that it has a very good foundation that holds up the business and allows it to drive into and successfully achieve its future goals. The whole industry will be new to me and the role itself sounded exciting and challenging, so all of that combined made me say yes to applying for the job.   💜 Do you have any advice for someone who may be looking to get into your sector of work? 📢 Do your research as there is a lot of financial jargon and acronyms. Working in accounts/finance is not as boring as it sounds I promise, if you like numbers and excel then I’d take a look into it and see if it’s for you.   💜 Fun fact: 📢 I've got a pair of one-year-old identical twin boys, but no, twinning is not a family tradition here. Last Friday marked National Take Your Dog to Work Day, and we were thrilled to have some of our dogs join us at our Northampton office! 🐕 From overseeing their humans' work to enjoying a sausage from our café and taking a lunchtime stroll, our furry friends had a fantastic time 🌟 Well done to Bobbins who was crowned best behaved dog during the walk! It was a difficult choice, but a big shoutout goes to the pet parents of Buster, Lola, Domino, and Milo for sharing the most adorable pictures! We are thrilled to welcome Christina Dell to the team as our Information Security Manager!   We took the opportunity to learn more about Christina;   💜 Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your career has led you to us? 📢 For more than a decade, I have been immersed in the world of Cyber and Information Security, gaining experience in various industries and holding positions at every level of seniority. Now, with the recent growth of my family, I find that the the morals and values I am presented with at Staysure align to this new chapter of my life.   💜 Why Staysure? 📢 I chose to pursue the next step of my career at StaySure because it’s closer to home for me, with young children I need the flexibility to do the school pick up and drop offs. Having female leaders invested in at a business is important to me and I can see the investment in all the leaders at StaySure but especially our female leaders. I’m excited to build out a fairly green function and really embed security practices into day to day operations.   💜 Do you have any advice for someone who may be looking to get into your sector of work? 📢 Finding a mentor or buddy in the sector you wish to pursue in my opinion is key to success. I have multiple mentees that are in the various stages of their cyber career. Identifying what you want out of your job (more money, more responsibility, more knowledge) is really important to help to formulate achievable goals you are invested in. Cyber security can be a broad and overwhelming topic, getting in an organisation that will support your lateral movement in the early stages will help you identify which areas interest you the most.   💜 Fun fact: 📢 I’m an avid clay and rifle shooter, have been shooting since I was 13 years old and still haven’t gotten any better! On Monday, our Recruitment Team swapped their office attire for dog-friendly gear and headed to Wellingborough Dog Welfare (aka Wellidog). As they stepped into the shelter, they were greeted by wagging tails, soulful eyes, and boundless canine enthusiasm. Each dog had a story, a tale of resilience and survival. Despite their past hardships, these furry companions revelled in playtime, their spirits undeterred. Some had been abandoned, left to fend for themselves in heart breaking circumstances. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Wellidog team, they now have a second chance, a chance to find forever homes filled with warmth, care, and belly rubs! Our team left with hearts full of gratitude, knowing that their volunteering day had made a difference.
